"Damn it," I grumbled, still drowsy from not getting enough sleep again. Today I was supposed to have lunch with Miss Burry to boot. I wanted to look good and have a nice time since we couldn't last time. Maybe I would even be able to decipher the truth behind those guys she always meets after work. That's why I had to make a run for it, taking a quick shower and changing into a new suit faster than ever, so my work wouldn't get in the way.
My race to the company was made just in time. I didn't have to use the back door elevator, but even while thinking that I might have, I laughed, recalling the time I met Miss Burry there.
"Oh. My hair. It's not looking weird, is it?" I mumbled while checking myself on my phone. I smoothed down a stray lock, desperate to look presentable.
Ever since that time, I pay more attention to it. If Miss Burry had noticed, it would mean that anyone else would too—or that's what I like to think.
