They were surprisingly small, looking soft and lovely to hold—a stark contrast to the sharp, serious demeanour she usually wore like armour. There was also the way she stared at me sometimes from behind those glasses, her eyes wide and searching, and how she seemed to shrink into herself when she laughed. It's weird for someone like her to accept that kind of relationship.
