Far ahead on the beach, Daniella slowed her steps without warning. A strange feeling settled over her, subtle yet impossible to ignore, as though unseen eyes had suddenly fixed themselves upon her. She instinctively turned toward the coastal road, scanning the passing vehicles beyond the swaying palm trees, but there was nothing unusual to see. Cars continued along the highway as they always did. Tourists strolled leisurely along the promenade, and beyond them, the endless blue ocean stretched toward the horizon beneath a cloudless sky.
Camilla noticed her hesitation and looked at her curiously. "What is it?"
Daniella hesitated before offering a small, embarrassed smile. "Nothing. For a second... I just felt like someone was watching us."
Camilla followed her gaze toward the road, but after seeing nothing out of the ordinary, she slipped her arm gently through Daniella's.
"You're probably just tired. It's been a long morning."
