"Stay with me," she whispered, her voice trembling uncontrollably. "Please... don't close your eyes."
Camilla managed the faintest smile despite the agony etched across her face.
"It hurts..."
"I know."
"It really hurts..."
"I know," Daniella repeated, tears spilling freely down her cheeks. "The ambulance is coming. Just keep talking to me."
Camilla struggled to draw another breath before forcing her eyes toward the boys.
"They're... safe?"
Daniella glanced over her shoulder just long enough to see Luciano still shielding Matías and Adrián with his own body.
"They're safe," she promised immediately, turning back to Camilla. "I promise."
Only after hearing those words did some of the tension slowly leave Camilla's expression.
Moments later, the distant wail of approaching sirens drifted across the coastline, growing steadily louder as emergency vehicles raced toward the beach. Someone nearby had already called for help.
