Chapter 68: Tengu Susano'o vs. The Strongest Light Body
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
Light rained from the sky—devastating, relentless, apocalyptic.
The harbor dissolved under Kizaru's assault. Docks shattered. Warehouses vanished. Even the distant giant poison, Smile, which had been oozing toward the laboratory, was erased from existence, blasted into harmless particles.
On the warships, sailors covered their eyes, blinded by the radiance. Their ears rang with a single continuous note—tinnitus drowning out all other sound.
"This is Admiral Kizaru's full power?!"
"Twenty years I've served under him! Twenty years of his lazy justice! I've NEVER seen him like this!"
Outside Punk Hazard, the Straw Hats had done the impossible—a single ship, holding off the entire G-5 fleet.
Smoker, having barely escaped the island, clutched his stomach. Blood trickled from his lips. Before him stood Luffy, fist still extended from his Jet Musket.
"Straw... Hat..." Smoker's voice was ragged. "How... how are you this strong now?!"
Luffy glanced at him briefly—then looked past him, toward the distant island, toward the light still raging.
"I've got people to protect. No time to chat."
He leaped to another warship.
Beside Smoker's vessel, Tashigi struggled to rise, reaching for Shigure. A blade pressed against her throat.
Zoro's voice was cold.
"I don't have time for your sword games. Before I decide to kill you—run."
A tornado of force sent attacking Marines flying.
But even as they fought, every Straw Hat's eyes kept drifting—toward that impossible light.
Franky lowered his smoking arm. "What scale IS that?! A hundred Pacifistas couldn't produce that much light!"
Robin's hands clenched. "Itachi... please hold on."
At the harbor, Itachi set Law's injured body against a ruined wall.
"Itachi-san... you—"
"Focus on your Room. That's how we escape."
Law grabbed his arm.
"No—I need to ask. WHO ARE YOU?"
He stared at the figure before him—at the half-giant of crimson flames and armored fury that had manifested around Itachi.
The Tengu form. Complete. Absolute.
"If we survive this," Itachi's voice echoed from within Susano'o, "I'll tell you."
Above, Kizaru stared at the same sight.
"WHO ARE YOU?!"
His palm shot forward—a laser beam, concentrated, lethal.
Itachi's left hand rose. The Yata Mirror caught the beam—and dissolved it. Not deflected. Not absorbed. Negated.
Kizaru's eyebrow rose behind his shattered sunglasses.
That shield... it's not blocking. It's ERASING.
His Eight-Foot Jewel Gauntlet—the attack that could level islands—had done nothing.
A memory surfaced. His old teacher, Zephyr: "Polusalino. You rely too much on your fruit."
Kizaru's hands spread.
"YATA NO KAGAMI—AMA NO MURAKUMO!"
Another rain of light—denser, more focused, aimed entirely at the crimson giant.
It meant nothing. The Yata Mirror absorbed it all.
And then—
Itachi moved.
Black Fire Crow erupted beneath Susano'o's feet, lifting the armored giant into the air.
Kizaru's eyes went wide.
"IT CAN FLY?!"
Lasers fired—frantic, desperate—all dissolved.
The Totsuka Blade rose—crimson flames trailing—and swung.
SLASH.
Kizaru refracted—just barely—light bending, escaping—
But the sword wave followed.
BOOM.
Three warships ceased to exist.
Kizaru reformed, panting. Another sword wave chased him.
He answered—maximum laser, meeting the wave in midair.
BOOM.
The explosion hurled him backward. He crashed onto broken ground, skidding, stopping.
Itachi descended before him.
Kizaru's eyes—sharp despite exhaustion—noticed. The crimson giant's breathing was ragged. The eyes within—straining, nearly closed.
Maintaining that form has a cost.
He launched skyward, escaping range.
Itachi's pupil power flickered. Nearly empty.
Damn it.
Kizaru hovered above, equally exhausted. Three light-particle recombinations. Endless ability use. He hadn't been pushed this far in decades.
"How troublesome..."
His voice still drawled, but his hands gathered light—the strongest laser he could muster.
"Let me see you off properly."
Below, Itachi answered.
The Totsuka Blade lowered. The Yata Mirror folded.
Tengu Susano'o's hands spread. Three magatama spun between them, linking, merging, growing.
"YASAKA'S MAGATAMA."
Kizaru's laser fired—a pillar of light splitting into countless tributaries, surrounding, consuming—
Itachi threw.
BOOM.
The magatama punched through the laser storm. Through the light. Through everything.
Kizaru's eyes went wide.
He tried to reform—
Too slow.
BOOM.
The explosion engulfed him.
Below, Susano'o flickered. Faded. Died.
Lasers—the remnants of Kizaru's attack—pierced Itachi's falling body.
Blood sprayed.
He fell.
