Chapter 47 - Cupid

"I am no disciple." Was the first thing he said.

Only after a few moments did Adal realise that he was standing in the clouds.

They had seemed to take on physical form, so that he did not fall through them.

It was clear that he was in some sort of cathedral. The building was made from the same white clouds, but there was a window above that allowed the daylight to shine through.

Adal was standing before an altar on a stage. A human-sized statue rested on the stage in front of him.

That was where the voice had come from, he realised.

The statue was made from white stone and carved into the most dangerously beautiful woman he had ever seen.

Curly hair flowed to her feet like a frozen waterfall, her face was angular and proud, and her naked body was a masterpiece; both slender and curvy at the same time.
