Just as the twins had come to their decision, and the gods watching them coming to a resolve to bend fate, and break the bounds of life and death, in a small village, about 9 days away by foot, a boy had found his way here.
He stepped into what looked like a small Inn, and took his hood off, shook the rain to the floor, revealing his silky black hair. The traveler's cloak rippled a couple times before the rest of the rain was off. His gaze was full of curiosity, when he saw an old couple looking at him a little confused.
"Dear, did we have a child like that in our orphanage?" The old woman asked, pulling out a register.
"Nope, he looks as though he isn't from around here." The old man said, taking a stand revealing that just because he was old, didn't mean that he was weak. "Boy, do you know where you are?"
"Is this not an inn?" The boy with silky black hair asked.
"Uhm, no. This is an orphanage. One run by a god from Orario, meant to be a safe haven for children to avoid suffering the bad side of us mortals." The old man explained. "I'm a level 3 from his familia. But I'm too old to continue diving in the dungeon. So I took this chance to still do some good with the last years I've got left."
This old man talks a lot, but at the very least I know now that he's no push over.Huh? Why did I think that way… The boy held a hand to his head, and stumbled to a table for support.
"You've overworked yourself haven't you, child?" The old woman smiled, closing the register and poured a glass of water, tapping the glass chilling it down to be just right.
"Huh, yeah, I haven't stopped running." The boy drank it down in a series of gulps letting some of it roll from the sides of his mouth. "Thank you! My name is Morthios, and I'm on a journey to find a place."
"Have you found it?"
Morthios shook his head side to side. "No, I am close though."
"Oh? How do you know?"
"I had a dream, it called to me, and I couldn't wait a moment longer. It was in this dream I saw the name of a village. It was on a sign leading away from the home, it was this village."
"Huh…"
The two old people blinked, giving each other a stare. Almost like they knew it was fate they had met the boy. But, that wasn't all. A girl with shining brown hair stepped into the room, rubbing her eye.
"I had another one of those dream things… Huh?" She saw the boy that was in her dream, she blushed and ran up to him. "It's you, you're real! You're really real!!!"
"Huh? You're the girl that was in my dream…" Morthios stammered with a shocked expression, and then smirked. "Then the dream was more than that. Something is really calling out! I want to go there even more now!!! Maybe I'll get answers to those other weird scenes I saw."
"You had those too?!"
"Yeah, by the way, my name is Morthios, what is your name?" He asked, somehow feeling more comfortable than he had been at home. She's like family, or something like that? Like I knew her for longer than my own life.
"My name is Euphemia. No family name, unless you have one to give me?" She said coming right out of the gate teasing union.
"No, I'm just Morthios."
"Awe, alright, I guess that's fine. By the way, have you had any more dreams?"
"Not yet, I was planning to camp out, but then the sudden thunderstorm made it a little too dangerous for me." Morthios explained. "That's why I'm here, I thought this place was an Inn."
Euphemia giggled, covering her mouth with her hands. "No silly, this is an orphanage." She managed to say as the giggles slowed down. "I did have one! It was wonderful! The clouds danced, and rain fell to the land, glowing with the striking of lightning."
"Was there anything else?"
"Yep, I saw more of where the village was located. I'm heading out tomorrow." She answered with an expressive smile. "I would have left earlier, but they said I should wait a few days."
"And that worked out, I got to see the girl from my dream."
Euphemia nodded, reached out and grabbed him by the hand, to run off out of the room. "Let's go dream together!!!"
"Huh? What?"
They disappeared, leaving the old couple at a loss for words. Ultimately letting it go with a sigh and a shrug.
"If this is happening, it must be fate."
"Should we tell Lord G-"
"Absolutely not. He doesn't need to be bothered with this kind of information. Orario is already a huge burden to handle. I'll follow them on their journey to make sure the two are delivered safely."
Then, in that very moment, the old couple both heard a voice at the same time, one carrying a powerful divine will.
"Be still your aid, aged mortal child. Your involvement with their fate ends when they leave. Fear for their lives not, for they are not fated to die young."
The old couple were sweating, the sheer magnitude of the divine power they felt just now was…
He gulped, as a bead of sweat dropped from his chin, and then he slowly led himself to the floor, on his knees.
She was silent, falling into a chair nearly going mind down from the event just now.
"That voice, it was so warm, and powerful."
"What kind of being could do that? It made Lord Ganesha feel like level 1."
"It was almost as bad as Lord Zeus, or Lady Hera?"
"Of course, I'm the goddess of, and over all Fate. Now don't make me interfere with yours, promise you'll let those children find their destination on their own."
"It will prepare them for what's at the destination, right?" The old man asked, getting a feeling in his breast, of an answer. "As you wish Lady Goddess, I will humble myself before fate, and allow them their own."
