Daniel sat beneath the dim yellow light, counting the savings in his hand. Exhausted, he rubbed his sore eyes.
"The tuition is enough, but I'm still short on living expenses."
Hearing this, Kelly immediately rummaged through her bag and pulled out a stack of bills.
"I saved five thousand over the past three months of work. Take it all."
She stuffed the money into his hand, her tone leaving no room for refusal.
"You know my shop provides food and lodging. Use this first."
"Five thousand? Your monthly wage is only two thousand…"
Daniel's eyes widened in surprise.
Kelly proudly lifted her chin, her smile carrying a hint of playfulness.
