Adrian froze, turning his head slightly toward Matteo. "Yes... very close. How do you know that?"
Matteo's mood shifted instantly. The air in the car grew tense. He looked away, his jaw tightening. After a brief pause, he said quietly, "Because… that same night, my twin brother had an accident."
Adrian's eyes widened.
"How could that be possible?" he said quickly. "That night… our car was the only one involved in the accident."
Matteo frowned slightly. "How can you be so sure? Do you remember exactly how the accident happened?"
Adrian nodded firmly, even though the memory made his chest tighten.
"Everything happened so fast," Adrian said, his brow furrowing as the painful memories clawed their way back. "But I remember one thing clearly."
He looked toward Matteo.
"It was a truck. A massive one. The driver came out of nowhere and slammed into us. It just… came from the side and crushed everything."
