The liquid metal surrounding Gojo slowly trembled.
Sora once again tried to compress the metal.
This time, it was the same.
"If you won't remove them, then I will do it myself."
Gojo's voice, muffled, came from within the metal sphere.
The cursed energy around the sphere trembled slightly.
"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."
With a burst of light, the metal sphere broke apart and scattered across the road.
Gojo stood there.
No damage or sign of harm could be seen on his body.
"What you saw just now was my Red. Instead of using negative cursed energy, positive cursed energy is used to activate this technique."
Gojo once again started explaining his ability.
"My negative allows me to attract, while the positive repulses. And Infinity maintains the distance."
Sora was not unfamiliar with the abilities Gojo had.
He simply did not know exactly what they did.
"Then, Gojo-sensei, how am I going to get close to you?"
Sora voiced his confusion, which was probably the most asked question by hundreds of people.
"The answer is simple, my student..."
Gojo pointed at Sora.
"You cannot."
"..."
Sora could only stare at the white-haired teacher.
"To bypass Infinity, you will need either a domain stronger than mine or a very special technique to counter the very space around me. These are the basic requirements to beating sorcerers above Grade 1."
Sora's face hardened at the thought.
Being born with such low reserves of cursed energy, even though he was a reincarnator, left a bitter feeling in his heart.
The continuous training, waking up early, and fighting curses while fearing for his own life made him grow even more bitter.
But he kept it sealed in his heart.
Thinking to himself:
'One day I will be strong.'
But at the end of the day, all he could do was some parlor tricks to entertain the strong.
"Now I will attack. You will defend."
Gojo broke through Sora's thoughts midway.
He raised one finger.
The air around it twisted.
A small red orb formed in front of his fingertip.
It was beautiful in the same way lightning was beautiful from far away. Bright and sharp, but dangerous when close.
Sora felt every nerve in his body tighten.
The liquid metal around his feet surged upward instantly.
It wrapped around his body layer by layer, covering his chest, arms, shoulders, and legs in a dark metallic armor. The surface was smooth and shifting, like black water trying to pretend it was steel.
At the same time, more liquid metal spread outward.
It formed a thick circular barrier around him.
Several more layers condensed over one another.
A bunker made from cursed metal.
Gojo watched it all happen with interest.
"Good response speed."
The red orb pulsed once.
Then Gojo flicked his finger.
"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."
The world exploded into crimson light.
For a single moment, Sora could not hear.
Could not think.
Could not even breathe.
The barrier in front of him caved inward instantly.
The first layer shattered.
Then the second.
Then the third.
The repulsive force smashed into his armored body like a train made of sunlight.
The armor cracked across his chest and shoulder.
Sora's feet left the ground.
His body shot backwards.
The road beneath him split apart as he flew through the air, chunks of asphalt and metal spinning around him like debris caught in a storm.
His vision blurred.
He could barely make out the sky overhead.
Then instinct took over.
Liquid metal burst from his back and arms.
Thin strands shot outward toward the nearby streetlights, railings, and broken pavement.
They spread and wove together in an instant.
A metallic net.
Sora slammed into it.
The entire net stretched violently, groaning under the force.
Several strands snapped.
But it held.
The impact still sent pain exploding through his ribs and shoulders.
Sora hung there for a second, caught in the web of his own cursed metal.
Smoke rose from the ruined armor covering his body.
The remains of the barrier had been erased completely.
Gojo stood far away at the other end of the broken road, one hand still raised casually in the air.
"See?" Gojo said with an annoyingly relaxed smile.
"That one was relatively small."
Sora slowly dropped from the net onto the cracked pavement below.
His legs shook slightly when they touched the ground.
He looked down at the shattered remains of the armor around his body.
Then he looked back at Gojo.
For the first time since arriving here, the gap between them no longer looked like a wall.
It looked like a mountain.
And Gojo was standing somewhere above the clouds.
"Gojo-sensei! Why are you using your technique in the middle of the city?! Do you want to destroy it?!"
Megumi arrived from his safe location.
The moment he saw Gojo using Red, he had bolted away.
"I can ex-"
Crack
The wall of the upper floor burst apart with cursed energy.
Gojo, Sora, and Megumi turned their gazes toward the noise.
'The mission is completed from the looks of it.'
'They killed the curse.'
'We can now go home.'
Nobara and Yuji had successfully completed the exorcism.
