Landon Sinclair froze for a moment at her words, not understanding why Chloe would ask such a question.
Then, as if something occurred to him, his face turned grim. He turned to Ethan Sinclair and said, "Ethan, something urgent just came up. I'll have to ask you to get the porridge."
With that, he hurried away.
Chloe Sinclair watched Landon's hasty departure, knowing he already had someone in mind.
After finishing the porridge her older brother had bought her, she rested for a while and planned to be discharged from the hospital that afternoon.
There was nothing seriously wrong with her body; she was just exhausted. Her muscles ached all over now, but she wouldn't say she was uncomfortable.
When she returned to the villa, Landon Sinclair wasn't back yet.
Mrs. Logan wasn't home at the moment, either.
Mr. Sinclair frowned. "Where's Mrs. Logan?" he asked.
The butler shook his head. "I've rarely seen her lately. She must be caught up with something."
