Nina Donovan wasn't surprised. She had even gone easy on her.
She grinned at the pale-faced Vivian Sterling. "I graciously accept your defeat, Sterling. Looks like you won't be in the competition this time."
"Well then, I'm going back to class to take a nap. All this work this morning has been exhausting." Nina Donovan yawned, turned, and started heading back to the classroom.
"Wait!" Vivian Sterling cried out urgently.
Nina Donovan stopped, her smile unfaltering. "Is there another problem, Sterling? This exam was completed under the supervision of the entire school's faculty and student body. You can't still be saying I cheated, can you? Or that I conspired with every teacher at Ninth High to trick you? Or perhaps... you're just a sore loser?"
Vivian Sterling clenched her jaw. A moment later, her eyes were red as she lowered her gaze. "I concede."
Her concession sounded anything but sincere.
