Ian Donovan's expression hardened. Contrary to what Vivian Sterling was implying, he wasn't covering for Nina Donovan just because she was family. He was stating a fact.
Seeing Vivian Sterling's eyes turn red, he suppressed his own unease and explained, "It's not what you think. She really didn't plagiarize this time."
"That's enough. Don't say any more. Just let me calm down."
Vivian Sterling cut Ian Donovan off and walked away before he could even react.
For some reason, Ian Donovan found himself thinking about his conversation with Nina Donovan from the night before.

The thought startled him, and he quickly shook it from his mind.
