The class was forming groups for the activity, but no one dared to team up with Nina Donovan.
First, they figured that as a pampered young lady, she wouldn't help out and would just end up ordering them around.
Second, Nina looked like someone who had never lifted a finger in her life, and they had no interest in waiting on her.
Third, Nina had a bad temper, and they were afraid she'd ruin their pleasant autumn trip.
No one invited Nina, and by extension, no one invited Jasper Sherwood, the one she had her sights on.
And so, in the end, they were the only two in the entire class left without a group.
Nina stood there, staring blankly, then turned to Jasper Sherwood. "Now what? Are we being ostracized?"
Jasper's expression was flat. "I don't think they'd have the guts for that. It's more like you've single-handedly ostracized everyone else."
Nina: "..."
