Even Kavitha did not know how involved she got into this project until she received this final copy. Even though life with Pratap was happy her son finally brought her back to the days where she could create stuff and be useful to others and not just her family.
Arjun was confused and did not know what to say and just quietly stood there hugging her back. He had never thought his family life would be so intriguing in his past life but was glad he did not or he would have probably not survived to witness this scene.
After complimenting the workers a bit the family of four returned back to their house where Arjun was forced to look into his books for the next few hours as his exams were getting nearer.
he tried to explain to his parents that he was already good in all the subjects but they did not believe him so Arjun even encouraged his mother to question him on any topic.
Kavitha did so just like he suggested and even though Arjun answered every question perfectly Pratap still did not let him off and forced him to revise every day once he returned back to house.
Even though Arjun felt he loved being with his parents just a few hours ago now he was starting to regret having those thoughts. Had it not been the case he would probably look for a way to get out of village for the upcoming years but now he was stuck in a dilemma.
The next day as Arjun was in school he was called out of the class as Bhargav had come to visit him. Although this was not allowed usually since Bhargav was secretary of the village surpanch Madan and everybody in the village knew and respected him Bhargav was allowed a certain amount of freedom in most government facilities in the village.
Arjun was relieved hearing Bhargav had come to visit him, it seemed he had finally found a construction company ready to take on the job of building the temporary shed so he hurried outside where Bhargav was waiting for him in his usual cream shirt and black trousers.
Hey Anna, thank you so much for getting me out. I was getting hella bored inside.
You know Arjun even though you made tons of money it won't hurt to take studying more seriously, after all i am here because of my studies.
I know Anna it's just that i know all the matter that's inside those books and even applied for early exams but still attending school in revision days is far more boring than on normal days, at least on normal days the teachers keep me busy or let us sleep but now i can't do either as they watch us like hawks during these times.
Early exams? what do you mean Arjun?
Arjun explained to Bhargav about the early exams proposition he made to the head master and why he had to do so.
Bhargav was stunned upon hearing this, he had never heard of a government school giving students option to take the exams early but considering the school's relations with Arjun it made sense.
Okay anna forget about those stuff, tell me have you found someone willing to do the construction?
Yes Arjun, there is a pretty famous construction company in Vijayawada named Satyam constructions they were willing to do the hurried build for us but the price they quoted was a little bit higher than the usual but since it is a hurried build project i think it's reasonable.
How much are they quoting anna?
Together with material and labour they are asking for 2 lakh rupees Arjun.
2 lakhs? are you sure the materials they will be using are quality stuff?
well i didn't enquire so much but since it's only for a couple years i figure any skimping on material costs would not effect us much.
No Anna, even though it's for only two years if something goes wrong during this time because of poor materials it could ruin our reputation.
Okay do you want me to talk to them again?
Let's go together Anna it will help me get away from this place for a bit.
Bhargav let out a sigh but still complied and went to the head master to get permission for Arjun to come with him and they together left to Madan's office since there was no public telephone booth available in their village.
Madan noticing Arjun come to his office during his school time was intrigued but did not question much and carried on with his work as usual.
Meanwhile Bhargav dialed to Satyam construction company and spoke to them about the material quality and just like Arjun had guessed they were quoting a new price of two and half lakhs if they were to use quality sheets and piping.
Arjun was okay with the quote and signaled Bhargav to accept the deal and asked them to get the work get started as soon as possible but they were asking for advance which Bhargav promised would be delivered by the end of the day after which they readily agreed to begin the transportation of goods on the next day.
Bhargav then called his brother Tharun to inform him about handing the advance to the construction company by the end of the day. Tharun was angry at his brother for using him as a mail man but since it was a matter regarding Arjun he quickly got one of his henchmen to do the task for him.
Bhargav then joined Arjun and Madan at the table and took out the land rental contract for Arjun to check after which Arjun quickly signed the documenting while lamenting about his uncle exploiting his nephew for just a few thousand rupees.
Madan hearing his grumbling gave a angry look at Arjun and carried on with his job.
Arjun then questioned Madan about their trip to Madras to which Madan replied why would the nephew who just got fleeced be willing to go a journey with the same uncle.
Arjun did not know where to put his face on this comment but still shamelessly replied alas what can i do unfortunately the same person is my business partner after all and i can't let him lose and exciting opportunity.
Madan glared back at Arjun but did not say anything.
Bhargav who was on the side looked at the two bickering and lamented in his heart about how they were teasing in a round about way, Madan had already asked him to book a couple of train tickets to Madras on may thirteen and informed Arjun about the thing while receiving the angry stare from Madan.
Arjun was happy upon hearing Mdan was coming along with him, Even though Arjun could go alongside Balram or Bhargav theyw ould not be treated the same way as Madan who was going to receive the party ticket before their travel.
He wanted to bring up the topic of hiring Bhargav but since he had already taken advantage of Madan by being at his office during his school time which if his mother gets to know, Arjun was sure Madan would be grilled by her for hours and quietly made his way back to his school.
By the time Arjun reached school it was lunch time and he joined Karan and had his food which was just simple rice and dal. Since the midday meals scheme hasd yet to start most kids brought their luch boxes or went back to their homes during the lunch break.
Once the school was done Arjun together with Karan visited the press and spent around an hour there before returning to their homes.
Arjun then remembered midway that he had yet to inform Balram about the new land and construction crew and hurried back to have a chat with this ex military man.
Seeing Arjun coming his way after he had just left Balram got up from his position and greeted Arjun while asking him what is it Arjun do you have something to say?
Anna when will you stop calling me by name, call me chinna like everyone else. Calling me by name makes us sound so distant.
Balram did not know what to say about this, they had not even met a month ago and Arjun was his employer too. He couldn't bring himself to call him by such nicknames after all the training he had at the military and just agvce a shy smile.
Arjun gave a sigh and informed about the new construction plan and wanted Balram to overlook the construction process to make sure everything proceeds smoothly and they don't skimp on materials to which Balram agreed readily.
Finally he had something to do, these days at the press had been most boring days of his life, at least at the bank he had people coming and going so he could make some fun out of it but here in the village he did not frankly know what he was guarding. Most people in village knew each other and he would even go as far as to say this place was safer than the bank he used to work at.
