"Grandmother says I shouldn't be worried but how can I not when she has changed so drastically?" Ye Shin Ah thought as she took a stroll in the courtyard with her personal maid.
"For weeks everything I have done has fallen flat." Ye Shin Ah thought as she struggled to keep a neutral expression on her face.
"I slipped and fell without her pushing me and she apologized immediately. I barged into her room and took most of her jewelry but Ye Shin Ye didn't even utter a word!" Ye Shin Ah thought in anger.
"Is this really the Ye Shin Ye I know?!" Ye Shin Ah thought in frustration.
"This won't do!" Ye Shin Ah thought.
"I must see for myself if this really is an act." Ye Shin Ah thought as she marched to Ye Shin Ye's living quarters with her personal maid.
Barging in without anyone being told to come in, Ye Shin Ah headed straight for her sister who was stitching an embroidery with her personal maid beside her.
"Sister, are you doing this for grandmother's banquet coming soon?" Ye Shin Ah said as she grabbed Ye Shin Ye's embroidery frame from her hand roughly.
"What insolence!" said Lan Zhi, Ye Shin Ye's personal maid.
"Taking jewelry is one thing but taking away a gift that Ye Shin Ye has painstakingly prepared for the old madam is another. No matter how well favoured you are, Miss Ye Shin Ye is the first daughter of the Ye family." Lan Zhi said as she grabbed the embroidery frame Ye Shin Ah with force.
"You must treat her with respect!" Lan Zhi said in anger.
"A hundred points." Shen Xiatang said as she clapped.
"Treasure her." Shen Xiatang said as she floated next to Lan Zhi.
"Lan Zhi." Ye Shin Ye warned her personal maid and her personal maid swallowed her tongue with difficulty.
"I just said treasure her!" Shen Xiatang yelled and Ye Shin Ye tried her best not to roll her eyes.
"This is your plan, remember?" Ye Shin Ye muttered before going to console her sister.
"It's okay." Ye Shin Ye said with a smile.
"I am sure sister didn't mean it." Ye Shin Ye said as she tapped Ye Shin Ah's hand in hers.
"I am sorry." Ye Shin Ah said pitifully.
"It was just so beautiful that I had to take a closer look." Ye Shin Ah said pitifully.
"Grandmother's birthday is coming up and everyone knows that grandmother prefers thoughtful gifts over monetary gifts." Ye Shin Ah said and Ye Shin Ye's expression hardened discretely.
"Ye Shin Ah has no talent and has no way to impress grandmother so if it's possible," Ye Shin Ah said as she gave her sister a pitiful look.
"Could big sister give this embroidery piece to me?" Ye Shin Ah said pitifully and Ye Shin Ye gritted her teeth.
"You-" Lan Zhi said in anger.
"Young Miss has been stitching this embroidery piece for weeks and now that the work is almost finished you want her to just hand it over to you?! Lan Zhi exploded in anger.
"How audacious." said Shen Xiatang.
"But no matter, consider it a token to her for the wonderful show she will play soon." Shen Xiatang said with a cold smile.
"You can have it." Ye Shin Ye said with difficulty and Lan Zhi blanched.
"Thank you sister!" Ye Shin Ah said as she hugged her sister happily.
Moving towards Lan Zhi, Ye Shin Ah smirked.
"There is no use getting angry." Ye Shin Ah whispered to Lan Zhi.
"Your mistress is nothing more than my dog now." Ye Shin Ah whispered into Lan Zhi's ears as she tried to grab the embroidery frame but Lan Zhi didn't budge.
"You-" Ye Shin Ah said in distress.
"Lan Zhi." Ye Shin Ye said and Lan Zhi reluctantly let go.
Smiling smugly at Lan Zhi, Ye Shin Ah and her personal maid left Ye Shin Ye's residence. Simmering in her anger, Lan Zhi waited till Ye Shin Ah and her personal maid had gone a fair distance before saying "Young Miss!" with a whine
"You spent so much time on that embroidery. Are you really going to give it away to Ye Shin Ah just like that?" Lan Zhi said in frustration.
"Of course I will." Ye Shin Ye said as she returned back to her seat.
"We are sisters, it's only natural to share." Ye Shin Ye said with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
"By the way, have you taken stock of all the jewelry she has collected?" Ye Shin Ye asked Lan Zhi and Lan Zhi nodded quickly.
"Miss Ye Shin Ah has taken a total of seven items and the items by names are as follows; a phoenix whisper hairpin, a moonlight butterfly pin, a pair of golden swallow earrings, a jade harmony collar, two Emerald Garden bangles and one Moonlit Jade bangle." said Lan Zhi.
"And what about that matter I told you about?" asked Ye Shin Ye
"Young Miss is wise." Lan Zhi stated.
"I asked around as you said and it was just as you predicted." Lan Zhi said with pride in her eyes.
"Did you prepare everything accordingly?" Ye Shin Ye asked with a small smile as she took out a piece of golden thread.
"Yes, young Miss." Lan Zhi said with a smile of her own.
"Good." Ye Shin Ye said as she began to stitch words into a scroll.
