"Because it was my fault."
"It's not your fault," Alaric Davenport consoled her, his voice softening.
The words went straight to her heart. In the past, everyone had always blamed her for anything that went wrong, but now…
She said, stunned, "Mr. Davenport, don't be so nice to me. I'm afraid I'll fall for you."
Alaric Davenport looked up at her. In the flickering light of the exploding fireworks, it was impossible to tell what he was thinking.
Perhaps the fireworks were too loud for him to hear. He said nothing.
Security personnel immediately rushed forward to extinguish the flames. Only after the fire was completely out did the chaotic crowd finally quiet down.
For a moment, it was hard to know whether to watch the stunning fireworks or the chaotic scene on the deck.
The fireworks display lasted a full forty minutes, and every burst was stunning. There were even fireworks that formed the shapes of the two of them, and their initials were imprinted upon the sky.
