"Alright, that is all for today," Dan said in his usual cold, calm, and steady tone, concluding his daily lecture on Fuinjutsu for his eldest children. He stood before them in the grand hall, a space specifically designated for theoretical lessons and education, looking over their focused and attentive faces.
The attendees of this lesson were Sam, Sofia, and the rest of the siblings from the first major wave of his children. Most of them were now in their late twenties, having become mature, strong adults. They all sat with great seriousness and intent, listening to every single word their father uttered during his regular lesson on the art of sealing.
Since the very beginning, when his children were only six years old, Dan had insisted on teaching them systematically about the field of Fuinjutsu. He dedicated time every single week to provide them with both theoretical and practical lessons in this vital subject. He did this because the mastery of seals was one of the most important and unique specializations of the Walt family. Dan himself had developed staggering and highly advanced techniques in sealing over long decades—such as the Vitality Seal and various barrier techniques—and he wanted to pass this precious knowledge to his children, as the foundation of the family was built upon it.
Furthermore, as his children approached the appropriate age Dan had previously set for applying the first foundational version of the Vitality Seal upon themselves—which was exactly thirty-five years of age—they would undoubtedly require a high degree of knowledge and a profound understanding of the complex field of Fuinjutsu. Dan had made a clear and final decision that he would not apply the first seal to his children himself. Instead, every single one of them had to rely on their own individual abilities and apply the seal through their personal effort. This was not because he did not want to help them or because he did not care for them; on the contrary, the opposite was true.
The real reason was that Dan believed that applying the seal by their own hands would be a very important lesson for them. It would teach them self-reliance and responsibility, and it would also ensure that they understood the seal deeply and appreciated its true value. Regarding the relatively simple first version of the Vitality Seal, which targets only the bones, Dan was entirely confident that his children would not face any major problems or real difficulties in successfully applying it to themselves. This was especially true because all of them, without exception, had awakened the Kekkei Genkai they inherited directly from him. This bloodline limit granted them a supernatural level of chakra control at a very precise level, which was absolutely necessary for the application of complex seals.
The only difference among Dan's children was the specific time or age at which they awakened their bloodline limit. Some were faster and more gifted than others. For example, Sam, Sofia, Finn, and Hoshi—these four highly talented individuals—managed to awaken their Kekkei Genkai at a very early age, around only eight years old. The rest of their siblings followed gradually; some, like Leon, the fourth son, awakened his power at age nine, while the others varied between nine and fifteen. However, the most amazing and important fact was that not a single one of Dan's children exceeded the age of fifteen before successfully awakening their bloodline limit.
This applied even to the children born later in the subsequent waves; almost all of them awakened their power between the ages of eight and fifteen, representing a staggering success rate of one hundred percent. At first, Dan was slightly surprised by this strange phenomenon—how every one of his sons and daughters, without a single exception, could successfully awaken the Kekkei Genkai, especially since bloodline limits usually do not transfer with such ease and efficiency from one generation to the next.
However, after a period of thought and analysis, he understood the logical reason for this incredibly high percentage. His children were the direct second generation of his blood; they inherited the bloodline limit directly from the original source—Dan himself—without any intermediary or dilution. Therefore, the matter was not truly strange or surprising when thinking about it deeply. It is natural for the first generation of direct offspring to inherit powerful traits almost certainly. However, Dan logically expected that in the following generations—meaning his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those after them—the percentage would gradually decrease and become less than one hundred percent.
Perhaps in the generation of grandchildren, the percentage would be eighty or ninety percent, and then in more distant generations, it would drop further. This was natural and expected. But even if the percentage was lower, there would always be a large number of members of the Walt family who possessed the powerful bloodline limit. As for the idea of expanding his family and allowing his children to marry outside the clan—finding wives and husbands from the outside world and thus increasing the family size more rapidly—Dan had thought about this matter long and hard.
After careful and deliberate consideration, Dan firmly decided to postpone this important matter further and further. He would not allow his children to marry or even mingle with the outside world until they all passed at least the age of forty and successfully managed to apply the first version of the Vitality Seal upon themselves. This was a fundamental and strict condition. Only when they applied the seal and their expected lifespan became one hundred and eighty years would Dan allow his family to communicate and interact with the outside world more broadly and freely, and permit them to marry.
Also, there was another very important reason for this delay: Dan wanted to be absolutely certain that the first generation of the sons of the Sage of the Six Paths—Ashura and Indra, the warring brothers who were tearing the outside world apart with their bloody conflict—had completely died and their era had ended. Mingling with the outside world while these two legendary monsters existed was considered a very great risk. Dan wanted to avoid any chance of his family being drawn into those conflicts or being discovered by either of the two warring parties.
But after the deaths of Indra and Ashura, and after the world calmed down a bit and the great clans began to form and the situation stabilized relatively, that would be a more suitable time to communicate with the world without great risks. Dan looked at his eldest children before him—at Sam, who had become a strong young man resembling him greatly; at Sofia, his first daughter, who was intelligent and gifted; and at the rest of their siblings—and he felt a deep pride in them.
They had become excellent fighters, mastering most of the techniques he had taught them, and their knowledge of seals was constantly improving. He was confident they would be perfectly ready when the time came to apply the Vitality Seal. "Train hard on what I have taught you today," Dan said quietly. "And review the notes well. In the next lesson, we will begin with healing seals that are deeper and more complex." Everyone nodded with seriousness and respect, bowing to their father before leaving the hall in silence. Dan remained alone in the hall, thinking about the future in which the Walt family would emerge from its isolation and take its place in the world. He smiled a faint smile; that day was approaching slowly but surely.
