"We did it, sister."
Fenrik Walt said excitedly as he stood beside Hoshi in front of a large metal table. Lying atop the massive table was a huge man, two and a half meters tall and appearing to be in his twenties. Even while unconscious and stretched out before them, his body radiated immense physical power.
"Yes, it seems you truly are a genius in this field, little brother."
Hoshi replied calmly, a hint of pride present in her voice.
"Well then, should we inform big brother Leon so we can immediately begin the transformation procedures on the rest of the squad?"
Fenrik asked enthusiastically, his eyes still fixed on the man lying before him with great interest.
"No, wait a little longer. We need to thoroughly verify the results of the current experiment first. Leon's wolves are his beloved children."
"Alright, sister."
Fenrik replied while continuing to stare at the figure on the table, his gaze carrying both scientific curiosity and appreciation for what the two of them had achieved together after years of research and experimentation.
In truth, the origins of this project stretched back more than ten years. At that time, Leon had proposed a plan to his father, Dan, as a way to reward his Lone Wolf Squad for their loyalty and outstanding performance during their battle against the Uchiha and Senju clans.
Leon's original idea had been to grant them advanced combat techniques that would increase their strength and accelerate their growth. However, Dan proposed something far more valuable in the long run: extending their lifespans and transforming them into superhuman warriors capable of protecting the blue Dragon Kingdom for centuries rather than merely a few decades.
However, Dan had established one absolute restriction from the very beginning. None of the family's secret techniques especially the Vitality Seals and the branches derived from them would be used in the project. Those secrets could never be allowed to leave the Walt family, regardless of loyalty or trust. The foundations of the family's strength had to remain exclusively within the family.
Because of this, Dan entrusted the research project to his daughter Hoshi, who had demonstrated talent rivaling his own over the years. He also assigned his son Fenrik, who was studying under her guidance and had likewise displayed remarkable aptitude for research and analysis, though he was still developing compared to his older sister. Naturally, both accepted the task with great enthusiasm, as it offered an opportunity to explore one of the most fascinating fields imaginable.
Thus, they began conducting large-scale research, experimenting with every possible idea, avenue, and methodology. Dan's requirements had been clear and precise from the outset: find a method to significantly extend lifespan and enhance physical capabilities beyond normal human limits. Perfection was unnecessary at first; what mattered was stability, repeatability, and the ability to apply the process to a large number of people.
They explored numerous approaches over the years. They experimented with fuinjutsu in various ways to modify the body and enhance its natural biological functions. They attempted to use chakra to create permanent and stable physiological changes rather than temporary enhancements dependent on continuous chakra flow. They also investigated the properties of various plants and natural compounds capable of influencing biological processes over long periods of time.
Yet after years of careful analysis and comparison, they eventually settled on a single approach that balanced effectiveness, stability, and large-scale applicability: direct surgical modification of the human body.
It was a highly advanced and precise surgical intervention based on their understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Through alterations to the body's fundamental structures, they sought to create individuals who were stronger, more resilient, and far slower to age, all through permanent and stable changes that required no external energy source to maintain.
The giant man lying on the table before them was the first successful application of this refined method after numerous earlier trials on less complete prototypes.
They had selected him carefully from among the available candidates because he represented an ideal test subject in terms of physical condition, overall health, and compatibility with the modifications they intended to perform. Early signs suggested that the procedure had produced exactly the effects they had been seeking.
However, Hoshi's caution and reluctance to immediately inform Leon were justified. Fully verifying the long-term stability of the results before applying the method to the rest of the Lone Wolf Squad was absolutely necessary.
Leon's wolves were not ordinary warriors who could be risked lightly. They were individuals who had proven their loyalty and had fought and sacrificed with their own blood and effort for many years on behalf of their leader. Leon valued them greatly.
This caution was also part of the lesson Fenrik was learning under his elder sister's guidance: a balance between enthusiasm for discovery and achievement on one hand, and patience and meticulous verification before implementation on the other.
