"You will regret rejecting my offer, you weak humans."
The demon possessing the body of the man spoke in a voice devoid of emotion, carrying only the unwavering confidence of someone utterly convinced of his own superiority. He slowly rose to his feet, and the instant he stood upright, a dense black aura erupted around him, filling the enormous chamber with an oppressive pressure.
"Get ready!"
Hinako shouted to her team.
The next moment, the demon tore open a massive slit across the abdomen of the body he inhabited. The black wound widened rapidly before enormous dragon like heads resembling gigantic serpents burst out from within, spreading in every direction as they opened their massive jaws.
At the same instant, every member of the team formed chakra weapons in their hands and charged toward the demon in perfect coordination, following the formation they had planned in advance.
In truth, during the period Thorn had spent training them, he had focused almost entirely on improving their chakra control. He understood very well that the time available was far too short to teach them advanced, complicated techniques that normally required years of continuous practice before they could be used effectively in real combat. For that reason, he concluded that the most suitable approach for their current level and one that could be mastered within the available time was the art of forming chakra weapons. It relied upon the same foundation of precise chakra control while being much faster to learn and far more practical in battle.
He also devoted considerable attention to improving their coordination and control so that both their offense and evasive maneuvers would become more efficient and more stable under extreme pressure. More importantly, through the information he had received from his father, Thorn already knew exactly which demon they would be facing, how it fought, and what they could expect from it. Rather than giving them general combat training, he built their entire program around that prior knowledge.
Hinako's training, however, had been structured differently and divided into three distinct parts for obvious reasons. The first was because she naturally possessed extraordinary talent, meaning that all she truly required was refinement and proper guidance to direct that talent along the correct path. The second was because she would serve as the decisive weapon in this battle, entrusted with a role that none of the other warriors could fulfill.
The first part of her training therefore focused on teaching her several fuinjutsu techniques from the Walt Family's sealing style. These were the techniques she would specifically need to complete the demon's sealing in the manner Dan intended a seal that restrained and imprisoned the entity without truly harming its existence, unlike methods that would split or damage it. Although these techniques ranked among the lower levels within the Walt Family's fuinjutsu system, by the standards of the outside world they were among the strongest sealing techniques currently in existence.
The second part of her training centered on the Chakra Threads technique, one of the Walt Family's fundamental techniques. Since both the Chakra Threads and the family's fuinjutsu ultimately relied upon exceptionally refined chakra control, training that control naturally formed the core of both disciplines.
The third and final part focused entirely on physical conditioning to strengthen her body. This was the foundation upon which every single combat style within the Walt Family was built without exception. Before anything else, they always relied on relentless physical training, a principle Dan had established from the very beginning after first applying it to himself before anyone else. A powerful body ensured that every technique and every combat style built upon it would possess strength, stability, and resilience. Even Dan himself, despite reaching levels none of his children could truly comprehend, still regarded physical training as the cornerstone of his own development.
Thorn's attention returned from these passing thoughts to the battle unfolding before him inside the vast chamber.
The enormous dragon heads lunged at the warriors from every direction, torrents of dense black chakra erupting from their gaping mouths as they tore through the air toward their targets with piercing shrieks.
The warriors dodged at the very last moment with carefully calculated movements. Their evasions were neither frantic nor reckless; every motion considered the source of the attack, its angle, and the position they would occupy immediately afterward. They responded by striking the available openings with their chakra weapons as swiftly as possible.
Although these counterattacks had only a limited effect and inflicted no meaningful damage upon the dragon heads which regenerated rapidly before launching new assaults . they were sufficient to maintain the balance of pressure and prevent the demon from completely overwhelming the team during this stage of the battle.
From his position, Thorn silently observed the constantly shifting battlefield with vigilant eyes, evaluating whether everything was still unfolding according to plan or whether events were beginning to develop in a direction that would require his direct intervention.
