"Die, you insects!"
The demon roared as he attacked with all his might, his voice filled with genuine fury. He no longer pretended to be calm as he had at the beginning of the confrontation, when he had viewed the group before him as nothing more than a minor obstacle that could be eliminated without much effort.
His anger stemmed from the fact that he could clearly sense the chakra levels of the people standing before him. Their chakra was neither exceptionally vast nor particularly powerful. Their level should not have posed any real concern for a being of his caliber. Yet despite that, they had become an annoyance he had never anticipated, and that alone was enough to infuriate him.
Their fighting style was strangely refined, far beyond what their chakra levels should have allowed. They evaded his attacks with astonishing precision at the very last instant, accurately reading each strike and responding at exactly the right moment. At the same time, they counterattacked whenever even the smallest opening appeared, launching swift and precise strikes that exploited every weakness left behind after each of his assaults.
Although those counterattacks caused him no real damage, they remained irritating because they constantly forced him to deal with them, preventing him from fully unleashing his offensive. His true objective was the blonde girl standing behind the warriors at a carefully chosen distance, silently observing the battle while waiting for the perfect moment.
From the memories of the body he had taken over, he knew she possessed a powerful sealing technique capable of imprisoning him. That made her the true target who had to be eliminated first. Yet these insects surrounding her continued to block every attempt to reach her with their infuriating fighting style.
Whoosh.
A powerful surge of chakra erupted around Hinako. She opened her eyes with complete focus, brought her hands together in the stance she had practiced countless times, and entered a state of absolute concentration, ready to release her sealing technique at precisely the right moment.
Without taking her eyes off the demon, she called out to the warriors of her team.
"You've done well, uncles. Leave the rest to me."
At that very instant, the demon sensed what was happening. He felt the chakra gathering around the blonde girl and immediately understood what it meant. If she were allowed to complete what she had begun, he would be placed in an extremely dangerous situation.
BOOOOOOM!
His black aura exploded outward with overwhelming force, filling the chamber with a crushing wave of pressure. The number of dragon heads bursting from his body multiplied instantly, erupting from every side of his body as they all opened their enormous jaws simultaneously.
With all the rage he had accumulated, he roared,
"Get away from me, you insects!"
A massive wave of chakra exploded outward in every direction, striking most of the warriors before him and sending them flying through the air. Their bodies slammed violently into the walls of the chamber, far from their original positions.
At the very same moment, the dragon heads shot toward Hinako at tremendous speed, intent on killing her before she could release her seal. They charged from multiple angles in straight trajectories, cutting off every possible path of escape.
For the first time, Hinako found herself facing a situation completely outside their original plan. Her chakra had already been gathered in her hands, and she was only moments away from releasing the sealing technique. But the dragon heads rushing toward her so rapidly made her hesitate for an instant. Should she interrupt the seal to defend herself, or continue and risk everything?
Then she heard Thorn's voice.
"Just focus on your technique. Leave the rest to me."
The hesitation vanished from her mind entirely. She devoted all of her concentration back to the seal.
Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.
A succession of blue arrows shot through the air, each aimed with perfect precision at one of the dragon heads racing toward Hinako. Every arrow struck its target at a specific point, pinning the head in place and completely preventing it from moving.
"You bastard! I won't accept this... I won't!"
The immobilized dragon heads roared in unison from their many mouths, their voices overflowing with frustration and fury . the cries of a being that had believed everything would unfold according to its will alone.
Thorn replied calmly,
"Accept your fate, evil creature. I cannot allow you to bring any more tragedies upon humanity."
He then turned toward the scattered warriors, who had already begun regrouping in front of Hinako, preparing to shield her before she released the seal that would determine the outcome of everything that remained of this battle.
