The Great Toad Sage also inquired about the Ryukoga Family and the extent of their involvement in the events unfolding across the outside world, for this had been one of the foremost questions on his mind ever since news of the great upheaval had reached him.
From the information he gathered, he learned that members of the Ryukoga Family had become exceedingly rare sights in the public eye. The little activity that had been observed was confined entirely to the borders of the Blue Dragon Kingdom, never extending beyond them.
This deliberate and unmistakable absence led him to conclude that they had no intention of interfering in the turmoil sweeping across the world. Instead, they had consciously chosen isolation and withdrawal. The reasons that could compel a family of such overwhelming strength to make such a firm decision were worthy of deep contemplation.
The realization stirred conflicting emotions within him. On one hand, he felt something akin to relief, for he preferred that this mysterious family remain uninvolved. Yet alongside that relief came unease. The disappearance of such a powerful force during a time of global chaos inevitably raised questions. What did their absence truly signify? What were they planning?
After careful reflection and reassessing everything he knew about the current situation, he concluded that there were still others capable of standing against the present threat. In particular, one of them was a descendant of Hagoromo. That individual had been training at Mount Myōboku for some time and, not long ago, had successfully mastered Sage Mode under the guidance of the younger generations of toads.
Even so, the succession of disasters and the steadily escalating turmoil throughout the outside world had greatly heightened his concern for the future of Mount Myōboku itself. His thoughts were not limited to the fate of the outside world; he also worried about his own home and the future of his children and grandchildren among the toads, and about what these ever-growing disturbances might ultimately bring.
For that reason, he decided to perform another prophecy. This time, however, he would proceed differently from before. He would not focus on any specific individual as he had on that ill-fated night when he directed his technique toward the being who stood at the head of the Ryukoga Family, leading to the consequences he still bore. Instead, this prophecy would be aimed at the general future of Mount Myōboku and its inhabitants.
"Very well... then it's time to begin."
After confirming that the chamber was completely empty, he slowly removed the white cloth covering his forehead, revealing the enormous blue eye concealed beneath it. He normally kept it hidden because he did not want any of his children or grandchildren to look upon it. Merely seeing the eye could affect them, causing hallucinations and delusions, and for that reason he never allowed himself the slightest carelessness in keeping it concealed.
In truth, despite the countless drawbacks brought about by the mutation that had afflicted him, one single benefit had emerged from it. Thanks to that blue eye, his gift of prophecy had grown incomparably stronger than before. It was as though the eye greatly amplified the ability itself, granting it far greater depth and clarity.
Yet that enhancement came at a price that could not be ignored. After every use, he was forced to enter hibernation immediately. Otherwise, he would gradually descend into a state of escalating partial madness.
Under normal circumstances, he would never have chosen to use it. But his concern for Mount Myōboku and for the future of his toads, in light of the growing unrest throughout the outside world, left him with no alternative. He wanted to see the best path that he and his people should follow in both the near and distant future in order to ensure their survival.
He slowly closed his eyes and turned his awareness inward, entering a state of profound concentration. At the same time, a brilliant blue radiance burst forth from the great eye in the center of his forehead, filling the surrounding space with a strange and mysterious atmosphere.
