Chapter 289 - Chapter 289 : Contradictory Being

Dan murmured as he watched the scene unfolding before him. The entity that had just been born from the culmination of his bold experiment was incredibly fascinating to him.

"Everything you possess has been embodied within this contradictory being, little one."

His words were directed toward the enormous giant standing before him, a colossal existence overflowing with an overwhelming aura that inspired instinctive awe. Its appearance was unique. Its body was a pure sky-blue color, yet it possessed no recognizable human features. It had no eyes, no nose, and no mouth. It was simply the form of a gigantic human body devoid of any details, like a statue carved from frozen blue light. Its limbs were long and well-defined, its chest broad, while its face resembled a perfectly smooth mirror reflecting everything around it.

As for its origin, it traced back to the golden and black threads that remained from the power of the mysterious entity that had communicated with Dan after the Great Toad Sage's prophecy. That entity had left behind fragments of its essence, and Dan decided to conduct a daring experiment. He took those golden and black threads and infused them with a portion of his own spiritual power ,not to alter their nature but to grant them a degree of internal stability that they fundamentally lacked, for they contained within themselves a fatal contradiction.

One part was naturally drawn toward light and life, while the other leaned toward madness and darkness. Because of this, a balancing element was necessary to preserve the integrity of that essence, and that balancing force was a fragment of Dan's own spiritual power, capable of temporarily reconciling opposing forces.

Once the essence had stabilized, he gave it the opportunity to grow and evolve. He placed it inside a special dimension that stored an immense quantity of natural energy, carefully refined from numerous orange dwarf stars. Then he activated the fragment of his spiritual power that had been fused into it, allowing the essence to greedily absorb the vast sea of natural energy surrounding it.

This process continued for tens of thousands of years. Gradually, the essence expanded, swelled, and slowly took the shape of a gigantic giant. Thanks to the Casimir Seal Technique, however, only a few years passed from Dan's own perspective, and in the end, his experiment was a complete success.

The purpose of this project was never mere curiosity or the desire to create a new lifeform. Rather, Dan intended to add another crucial piece to the grand design he had been weaving for so long. The role of this being was to deepen the world's foundation and increase humanity's chances of surviving the trials that lay ahead.

The giant contained an amount of natural energy comparable to that of numerous orange dwarf stars. Yet despite its seemingly solid appearance, it existed in a state of complete instability, consumed by madness and violent contradiction. The two primary components that formed its existence , the golden threads and the black threads both originated from the same primordial entity, yet they were fundamentally opposed to one another. As a result, the very same conflict raged endlessly within the giant itself.

At one moment it desired to tear itself apart into countless fragments, while in the next it desperately wished to merge into a single unified existence. These violent fluctuations condemned it to an endless cycle of contradictory madness, like an eternal storm of conflicting desires that could never settle.

For this reason, Dan intended to release it in the future as another essential part of his original plan .

a plan designed to increase the opportunities available to humanity and prepare them to confront the madness and darkness destined to emerge in the ages to come.

His plan was simple in concept. The moment the giant was released, the overwhelming contradiction within it would cause it to explode automatically with unimaginable force, scattering itself into thousands upon thousands of fragments across the world.

As a result, fortunate or exceptionally capable individuals would eventually discover these fragments and obtain portions of their power, greatly increasing their own strength and granting them opportunities they could never have dreamed of.

Yet those opportunities came with terrifying risks.

Anyone attempting to digest or fuse with those fragments might succumb to the madness embedded within them, or perish a gruesome death under the influence of the insanity inherited from the primordial source from which the fragments were born. Thus, what appeared to be a blessing could easily become a devastating curse, killing its bearer or transforming them into a mindless monster.

Because of this, these fragments would be considered more of a curse than a blessing by most people. Before anything else, they would test one's willpower and mental fortitude.

Of course, this was merely one component of Dan's greater design. He had prepared numerous other opportunities for humanity as well some far safer, others even more dangerous but together they formed an intricate web of possibilities, giving the human race a genuine chance to survive whatever awaited them in the future.

I drew the inspiration for this entity from the world of a famous novel. Can anyone catch the reference?
