Lysander Vale was never meant to matter.

Reborn into the world of that unfinished story, Lysander carries one advantage and one problem. The advantage: he knows what happens next. The problem: he only read the beginning. The story he's now living inside of is one he never finished — and the further it moves forward, the darker the things he doesn't know become.

He has no blessing. No noble lineage. No divine favor. What he has is a sword that shouldn't exist, a system built from the authority of a god the world decided to forget, and the knowledge that several people around him are scheduled to die.

Appears in the sword space seated on a throne — one hand against her cheek, legs crossed, the posture of someone who has been patient for centuries and made patience look like authority. Long dark hair. Eyes that carry the weight of someone who has seen everything and chosen what to say about it carefully.


She is not a weapon. She is not a guide. She is something older than both.


Taro Stormfang Beastkin — wolf clan. Wind element. Lysander's closest friend. Expressive, loyal, reads people through instinct. His ears and tail say more than his words do.


Elara Moonveil Court Moonveil elf. Star element. Precise, composed, politically sharp. Silver hair, pointed ears, silver eyes with a faint starlight quality. The most academically accomplished student in the first year cohort.


Valeria Frostborn House Frostborn. Ice element. Technical, observational, says exactly what she means and nothing more. Her precision in combat is matched only by her precision in everything else.
