Claudia POV

"Well, what do you think? Shall we go now? We can always text Ray once our plane lands in Paris," Anok said eagerly, but I had to shake my head in the end.
"I'm not allowed to leave the penthouse without his supervision. It is written in the contract that I signed, and for some reason, the pet contract is legal in the eyes of the law."
"Ugh, what a weirdo!" Anok protested before getting up and grabbing my hand. "Let's go and have lunch outside. It's so boring to stay in here every day."
"I-I can't—" I resisted immediately, thinking that I had to uphold the contract, so Ray would do the same.
I couldn't afford to make him angry, because Aurora needed all the safety that she needed to get away from Clarissa's clutches.
But Anok didn't get the memo, "Why not? Don't tell me that you're scared of his wrath? Oh come on, he's scary, but not unreasonable!"
