Ray POV
"I do not like him anymore, but that doesn't mean all the memories in the past are false. At some point in time, our love was real, and so was his warmth," Claudia's smile turned sad. But she didn't seem to be distressed.
Rather than distress, she was more like a woman who recalled a past lover who had died a long time ago. She was holding onto the memoir of her late husband in the form of wedding rings.
…
I was stunned, but also at ease knowing that might be the case. Claudia did not love Miles anymore, but she was just recalling the good moments in the past.
However, the ease in my heart didn't last long, because I grumbled again knowing that Claudia would rather cling to the past than forget about it entirely and move on.
"What's so good about clinging to the past anyway?" I ridiculed with a snort. "Only a fool would continue to cling to the past, unable to move on because his mind is stuck with the good moments back then."
