Marcus's POV
Marcus knew she was in the library before he saw her.
He'd installed the security system three years ago, which meant he knew every movement inside the penthouse without actually being in the same room. The motion sensors picked her up at 11:47 PM, moving between the shelves like she was searching for something specific. Not nervous. Methodical.
He should have left her alone.
Instead, he saved his work and closed his laptop and made his way downstairs. He told himself it was routine. His brother's new shadow had been in this penthouse for four weeks and she was starting to ask questions. It was smart to understand what those questions were.
That was the lie he told himself.
