It had never once even occured to Eric just how much damage Aurora had managed to inflict on him during their fight here at the parking garage.
After all, the only thing Eric had been able to think about during the fight he had just now was how he was going to be able to survive against Aurora.
Because unlike him, Aurora clearly had all the advantages against him.
She was smaller, faster, deadlier, and more experienced than he was in so many ways.
In hindsight, the fight really should've ultimately ended in his death.
However, after taking a look at his severely injured body, and seeing all of the wounds and cuts that she had managed to land on him, as well as the small knife hole that was now present in the side of his stomach, Eric now fully understood how he had somehow managed to pull through till the end.
And that was mainly because...
'I don't feel any pain.'
Even now, he didn't feel a thing from the numerous amount of wounds and gashes on his body despite it still actively bleeding.
At most, he felt a little discomfort, but that was all.
No stinging.
No burning sensations.
Nothing else at all.
It was as if...
'The condition I was born with is back again.'
'...'
'Really... this is just beyond stupid now.'
Eric didn't know what to think about this.
On one hand, it was because of him not being able to feel any pain whatsoever that he was still alive right now.
But on the other hand...
He thought that he was finally able to move away from it all, and not to have to deal with something so annoying ever again.
But it seems like he had been dead wrong.
And now, he needed to get used to it again.
Just like he had tried doing so back on Earth.
"..."
Well, regardless of if he liked it or not, at the end of the day, he couldn't do anything about it, and besides, in a world where he has died 18 times already and was once again being hunted by this world's protagonist, he needed all of the advantages that he could possibly get.
As such, Eric didn't think about his condition for much longer, and instead decided to focus on the current task at hand, which was getting away from the authorities and treating his injuries.
The last thing he wanted was for the authorities to get a hold of him after all, since he'd most likely be confined to one place and make it easy for Aurora to potentially attack him again.
And while Eric could easily use his family's connections to get him out of trouble with the authorities, Eric knew that it was simply better not to just involve the authorities whatsoever when his end goal is to kill Aurora, even if there were a lot of corrupted officials willing to bend the rules for him and his family.
So after thinking about his options for a little bit, Eric eventually decided to simply make a run for it while the authorities still wasn't here yet and hope that he can make it to one of his safe houses that his family has set up all over within the city in time in order to treat his wounds.
And if he ends up bleeding out before that happens, then he can only pray that a good samaritan would be able to find his body in time before he ended up succumbing to his death.
With that in mind, he quickly went to one of the stairways that led to a different exit of the parking garage and finally left the scene of the crime...
Completely unaware that someone else had been secretly watching him the entire time.
