Claire's POV
"Why is she here, Louis?"
He stood frozen, his lips parted to speak but not quite managing to do so. At his side, Kelsey dug her manicured fingers into his arm which caused him to jolt back out of his trance.
"Tell her, Louis," she purred, turning her head to face him. Louis doesn't acknowledge her though.
My brows drew together as I watched them, Louis' creased forehead, Kelsey's smug smile. They looked so out of sync but still fully in tune at the same time.
My heart pinched painfully in my chest as I took them in.
"Yeah, Louis," I echoed, raising my brows, "tell me."
"Claire, it is really not what you think. I can explain."
I shrugged, fixing my hands into my jacket pocket. "Then please, be my guest.
"Louis!" Kelsey practically shrieked from beside him, trying to catch his eyes that were fixed solely on me.
Like a reflex, warmth began to crawl up my skin despite the slight chill in the air.
