They got in the car and sped off. Mark took turns that led him to the highway.
"He is hunting us," Nathan said.
"I don't think he was looking for us. He is killing hunters," Mark explained "I just don't know how he knew where the Marleys live"
"He is using the Providence. Do you remember what he said?" Nathan asked.
"I am Providence," Mark mentioned and Nathan nodded.
"We have to warn the other hunters," Nathan said and a siren beeped. He turned around to see a police car behind them.
Mark pulled over and rolled down his window. He watched the police in his side mirror as he walked towards their vehicle. He undid the strap on his holster as he got closer.
Immediately he got to Mark's window he pulled out his gun. "Get out with your hands up," the cop said.
As Mark was about to open the door, the cop stopped him.
"Open the door from outside," the cop said pointing his gun at Mark.
"Officer Carter, what is this about?" Mark asked, reading his name on his uniform.
"Turn around and place your hands on the vehicle," Officer Carter barked at Mark.
A sudden loud bang made Mark's ears ring. He squinted as his ears adjusted. Mark patted himself, he turned to see Officer Carter on the ground.
Blood oozed from a hole in his head.
"Get in!" Mark yelled.
Nathan started the car and got back on the road. His phone chimed and he looked at it.
"Mark, there is an arrest warrant for us. It says we should be considered armed and dangerous," Nathan announced.
"This is definitely Corvus' doing. No wonder the cop was shaking," Mark said.
"Wait, are you saying the person I just shot is just an ordinary cop?"
Nathan suddenly turned pale.
"What were you thinking. I could have de-escalated the situation," Mark said and shook his head.
Nathan started rocking in his chair.
"I killed someone. He was not a monster or possessed," tears rolled down his cheek as he said.
"It is okay, you saved me," Mark said and patted him on the back.
"No I did not. He was just going to arrest us," Nathan replied.
"We can't tell for sure what he was going to do," Mark said to calm Nathan down.
Nathan was looking at his phone when Mark snatched it and threw it out the window. He is tracking them.
"I think I should turn myself in," Nathan said, and Mark sighed.
"If you turn yourself in, you will be serving yourself up to Corvus," Mark explained.
Corvus walked into a convenience store. A few demons followed close by. Corvus stopped all of a sudden.
"Say it," he turned and said to a caramel-skinned woman in one-piece leather tights.
"I was just wondering why we are wasting time and energy chasing hunters?" The female demon asked.
"Mazikean, are you questioning me?" Corvus asked.
"No," Mazikean said.
'He trapped me decades for him. I'll destroy everything he built for him,' Corvus said as he walked through a false wall.
