Chapter 34 - The Pull of Affection

A the city's dust and mechanical drone, when Rafiq opens his old diary on the balcony of his small rented house, the outside world seems to fade away. To Rafiq, words are not just letters; they are the fuel for survival. He knows that every click of his keyboard has the power to buy a little more happiness for his family.

That afternoon, while tidying his drawer, he stumbled upon an old coin. A copper-colored 10-paisa piece. How long ago that felt! His grandfather's chest used to be full of such treasures. Holding the coin, Rafiq thought to himself—human life is much like this currency. On one side, there are dreams; on the other, the harsh face of reality.

When he sits down to weave his stories, pouring his heart into every sentence, the screen doesn't just display English characters. Instead, his raw, authentic Bengali emotions take flight. He thinks of his mother—it is for the sake of seeing her smiling face that he stays up late into the night, writing stories for digital platforms across the globe.

"Son, would you like some tea?" his mother's gentle voice broke his trance.

He smiled and replied, "Yes, Ma."

He knows that perhaps one day, many people will read his stories, and he might even find fame. But his true success lies in that sip of tea from a clay cup and the secure sanctuary of his family. His stories don't breathe through artificial sophistication; their true soul lies in the small sorrows and the mountain-sized love of real, flesh-and-blood people.
