Naruto walked toward his training ground with calm steps. His bright blue Six Eyes scanned his surroundings in a full three hundred and sixty degrees.
Trees, rocks, walls—everything became transparent to his perception. Obstacles meant nothing to his vision as he searched for any hidden presence.
He was specifically searching for one thing.
ANBU.
Naruto's gaze swept through the forest once more before a grin slowly spread across his face.
"So I'm finally free…?"
No masked shinobi. No hidden observers. No silent watchers following his every step.
For the first time since childhood, Naruto Uzumaki felt truly alone.
And he loved it.
His smile widened as he approached the training ground.
Two familiar girls were already waiting there.
Ino had her arms crossed and looked extremely annoyed. Hinata stood beside her quietly, though her eyes brightened the moment she saw Naruto approaching.
"Ino… Hinata," Naruto greeted casually.
Before Ino could start complaining, Naruto immediately raised his hand defensively.
"Our sensei was a pervert who didn't show up for hours," Naruto said quickly. "Because of him I was late. You can ask Sakura."
Ino huffed and looked away.
"Stop acting like I don't trust you."
Naruto grinned. "You were definitely about to yell at me."
Ino pointed a finger at him. "Only because you deserved it!"
Hinata giggled softly at their usual banter.
Then she tilted her head slightly.
"So… what is the surprise, Naruto-kun?"
Naruto glanced around one more time, his Six Eyes carefully sweeping the area again.
No chakra signatures.
No observers.
Good.
Suddenly, sealing markings spread from Naruto's feet across the ground, glowing faintly as a complex fuinjutsu formation appeared beneath them.
Ino and Hinata blinked in surprise.
"When did you learn Fuinjutsu?" Ino asked, staring at the glowing markings.
Hinata looked just as shocked. "Naruto-kun… I didn't know you could do something like this."
Naruto scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Ah… well… forget about that part."
Then he raised his fist toward them with a nervous smile.
"Just give me a fist bump."
For a moment Naruto hesitated internally.
This is it…
He trusted them.
He truly did.
But they were still children.
What if they reacted like the villagers?
What if they looked at him like a monster?
Even with all his confidence, a small fear still lingered inside his heart.
Ino raised an eyebrow.
"That's the surprise?"
Hinata looked curious but still lifted her fist.
Naruto took a slow breath.
Then he bumped their fists.
The world suddenly shifted.
The forest disappeared.
The ground beneath them turned into soft green grass stretching endlessly in every direction.
Colorful flowers swayed gently in the wind beneath a clear sky.
Ino blinked in shock.
Hinata gasped softly.
"It's… beautiful."
Then they noticed something else.
Massive red torii gates stretched into the distance like a corridor. At the end of those gates lay something enormous.
Something terrifying.
A gigantic nine-tailed fox rested behind massive sealing bars, its crimson eyes calmly watching them.
Ino and Hinata froze instantly.
"N-Naruto…"
Their voices trembled.
Hinata grabbed Naruto's sleeve instinctively.
Naruto calmly walked toward the massive gate.
Ino and Hinata panicked immediately.
"NARUTO DON'T GO THERE!" Ino shouted.
Hinata grabbed his arm tightly. "Naruto-kun… please…!"
Naruto stopped and turned back toward them.
His expression was calm.
But his eyes were serious.
"I brought you here because I wanted to tell you the truth."
The girls slowly calmed down as they listened.
Naruto looked up at the giant fox behind the bars.
"This is Kurama."
The massive fox opened one eye lazily.
His enormous gaze fell upon the two trembling girls.
Naruto continued quietly.
"The Nine-Tailed Fox… the one that attacked the village twelve years ago."
Ino's eyes widened.
Hinata gasped softly.
Naruto looked back at them.
"And it's sealed inside me."
Silence filled the massive mental world.
The wind gently rustled the flowers around them.
Naruto spoke again, his voice steady.
"I'm a Jinchūriki."
He looked down slightly.
"The villagers know."
"They call me a monster."
"They call me the demon fox."
"They hate me because of this."
Naruto gave a small shrug.
"I figured… if we're friends… you should know the truth."
For a moment neither girl spoke.
The weight of Naruto's words hung in the air.
Hinata looked down as tears slowly formed in her eyes.
Ino clenched her fists tightly.
Finally Ino looked up at Naruto.
"You idiot."
Naruto blinked.
"What?"
Ino suddenly punched his arm.
"Why are you saying it like it's normal?!"
Naruto rubbed his arm. "Ow! That hurt!"
Ino glared at him with watery eyes.
"You think that changes anything?!"
Naruto froze slightly.
Hinata stepped forward softly.
Her gentle lavender eyes met Naruto's blue ones.
"You are still Naruto-kun."
Her voice trembled slightly, but her words were firm.
"The Naruto-kun who smiles… the Naruto-kun who trains harder than anyone… the Naruto-kun who protects his friends."
She shook her head slowly.
"Nothing about that changes."
Naruto stared at her silently.
Ino crossed her arms and looked away with a small pout.
"So what if there's a giant fox inside you?"
She huffed.
"That just means you're even cooler."
Naruto blinked again.
"You… don't hate me?"
Ino looked offended.
"Of course not!"
Hinata nodded firmly.
"We could never hate you."
Naruto stood there quietly.
Then he scratched the back of his head and laughed awkwardly.
"Heh… I knew you two were different."
Behind the bars, Kurama watched everything silently.
The massive fox narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Hmph."
His deep voice echoed through the mindscape.
"So these are the two you trust… brat?"
Ino jumped.
Hinata grabbed Naruto's sleeve again.
Naruto sighed.
"Yeah."
He smiled confidently.
"They're my friends."
Kurama stared at the girls for a long moment.
Then the massive fox snorted lazily.
"Hmph. Interesting."
