Naruto walked toward the Academy with his hands tucked into his pockets, a red scarf wrapped loosely around his neck. The winter breeze tugged at the fabric, making it flutter behind him like a quiet declaration of defiance. His blue eyes were calm, far calmer than any child his age should be.
He stopped in front of the classroom door, smirked, and then kicked it open with dramatic flair.
"Uzumaki Naruto is here!"
The chatter inside the room died instantly. Dozens of eyes turned toward him, and the whispers began as they always did.
"Hey… that's the Demon Fox, right?"
"Yeah, it's him. My mom told me to stay away from him."
Naruto heard every word. He always did. Yet his smile didn't fade as he walked to his seat and dropped into it casually, stretching his arms behind his head as if none of it mattered.
A boy with spiky pineapple-shaped hair entered next, hands in his pockets, looking half-asleep. Beside him waddled a chubby boy munching on chips.
"Yo, Shika!" Naruto waved lazily.
Shikamaru sighed. "Stop calling me that, Naruto. It's troublesome."
Naruto grinned wider. "Troublesome suits you."
He turned his head toward the chubby boy. "Hey Choji, morning."
"Morning, Naruto," Choji replied warmly, already reaching for another chip. "You're loud as always."
"Gotta keep the energy up," Naruto said with a wink.
The classroom settled as Iruka-sensei walked in, placing his books on the desk with a firm thud. Lessons began, and Naruto paid attention—at least outwardly. Beneath that easy smile was a mind far older than it appeared.
After class ended, Naruto stretched and slung his small bag over his shoulder.
"See you guys later," he called out.
"Don't cause trouble," Iruka warned automatically.
Naruto grinned. "No promises, Iruka-sensei!"
Instead of heading home, he made his way to an abandoned training ground no one used anymore. Snow crunched beneath his sandals as he stepped into the clearing.
He started with running laps until his breath fogged heavily in the cold air. Push-ups followed, then pull-ups from a broken wooden beam, crunches in the snow, squats until his legs trembled.
"Man… that was tiring," he muttered, sweat soaking his shirt despite the winter chill.
He exhaled slowly and closed his eyes. He was a reincarnated soul in this world, gifted with something extraordinary—Six Eyes. Not the Gojo clan's version, but something uniquely his.
When he activated them, the world sharpened.
For a brief moment, his irises shimmered faintly. His perception expanded, chakra flows becoming visible threads, movements slowing to near stillness. He spotted ANBU hidden in the trees. Root operatives lurking further back.
"Still watching me, huh?" he whispered.
Six Eyes granted him 360-degree vision, unmatched perception, and even when deactivated, his dynamic vision and reflexes remained superior—akin to Sharingan and Byakugan combined.
He was about to deactivate them when a familiar chakra signature caught his attention.
"…Hinata?"
He focused eastward. Three academy boys had cornered her near a snow-covered tree.
"Hey, monster eyes, look here!"
"Yeah, show us those creepy eyes!"
One boy reached toward her hair.
A snowball smashed against his head.
"Who did that?!" he shouted, spinning around.
Naruto stood a few meters away, already shaping another snowball in his gloved hand.
"Yo. Having fun bullying her?" he asked innocently. "Mind if I bully you a little too?"
"Grab that demon kid!" one of them yelled.
"Yeah, he's alone!"
Hinata's voice trembled. "No—no, don't!"
Naruto grinned, dropping into a relaxed stance. "Relax, Hinata. I won't let them touch you."
The boys rushed him.
Naruto moved effortlessly. He sidestepped a punch, swept snow into one kid's face, ducked under another swing, and lightly pushed him off balance. He wasn't striking hard—just redirecting, evading, making them trip and fall face-first into the snow.
Hinata stared in awe.
He looked like he was dancing.
His red scarf flowed behind him as moonlight filtered through the trees. His smile never wavered. He wasn't fighting to hurt them—only humiliating them enough to make them retreat.
"Why can't I hit him?!" one boy cried.
"He's cheating!"
Naruto popped up behind them and pressed snow into another's collar. "Too slow."
Within minutes, the boys were soaked, shivering, and sneezing.
"Let's go!" one sobbed. "This freak's crazy!"
They ran off, leaving Naruto dusting off imaginary dirt from his shoulder.
He turned toward Hinata, his tone softening. "Yo, Hinata. You okay?"
Hinata's cheeks burned red. "Y-yes… thank you."
She bowed quickly.
Naruto tilted his head. "Where are your guards?"
Her fingers fidgeted. "I-I left without telling anyone."
"Rebel, huh?" Naruto teased.
Her face turned even redder. "I'm sorry…"
Naruto's stomach growled loudly.
He blinked, then laughed. "Well, since you ran away, you gotta do something."
He grabbed her hand suddenly. "Let's go to Ichiraku Ramen. My treat."
"W-wait! I can't! My father—"
"You already ran without telling him," Naruto interrupted playfully. "You're gonna get scolded anyway. So why not enjoy the present?"
Hinata hesitated, heart pounding, but she didn't pull her hand away.
They ran together through the snowy streets. For once, she wasn't thinking about the Hyūga name. She wasn't thinking about expectations.
She was just running.
They slid into empty seats at Ichiraku.
"Old man! My usual!" Naruto called.
Teuchi chuckled. "Loud as ever, Naruto."
Naruto turned to her. "What do you want?"
"U-um… tonkotsu ramen."
"Good choice!" Naruto grinned.
As Teuchi prepared the bowls, Naruto leaned back. "You don't talk much in class."
Hinata looked down. "I… I'm not good at speaking."
"Liar," Naruto said gently. "You talk fine right now."
She blinked at him.
"You just think too much," he added.
The ramen arrived steaming hot. Hinata hesitated at first, then began eating slowly. Naruto chatted about random things—Iruka's strict face, Shikamaru's laziness, Choji's appetite.
Gradually, Hinata relaxed.
She laughed softly at one of his exaggerated impressions.
At the Hokage's office, Hiruzen watched through his crystal ball as an ANBU operative knelt before him.
"Shall we intervene?" the masked ninja asked.
Hiruzen took a slow puff from his pipe. "Don't meddle in children's affairs."
The ANBU bowed and vanished.
Hiruzen exhaled smoke thoughtfully. "It's time he forms bonds. The Ino–Shika–Cho trio already includes Shikamaru and Choji… Kiba and Shino may follow. The Hyūga are neutral… supportive of the Hokage faction."
He watched Naruto and Hinata laughing together.
"Hm. Hinata Hyūga… let them decide for themselves."
Back at Ichiraku, Hinata finished her bowl and suddenly stiffened.
"I-I ate too much…"
Naruto flicked her forehead lightly.
"Don't worry about money," he said. "And don't worry about how much you are either."
He stood and took hinatas arm as thy started walking towards Hyuga Compound.
"B-but we didn't pay!" Hinata said.
Naruto waved dismissively. "It'll be paid later. I can eat here freely. If you're hungry, just come and eat. Don't hold back."
He grabbed her hand again and started walking toward the Hyūga compound.
The walk was slower this time.
"So," Naruto said, glancing at her, "how was it? Running without thinking? Eating without worrying?"
Hinata's voice was soft but steady. "It felt… fresh. And free."
Naruto smiled.
"Then stop thinking you're weak or talentless. Forget what your clan says. Eat until you're full and train hard."
He stopped walking and looked directly at her.
"Don't fight to hurt others. You're too kind for that. Fight to protect. That kindness? Make it your strongest weapon."
Her breath caught.
"I believe in you. Stop doubting yourself. Don't compare yourself to anyone. Don't try to be someone else."
He grinned gently.
"Just be the Hinata you are."
Tears gathered in her pale eyes. "Y-you… how do you know?"
Naruto shrugged lightly. "I always watch you training. You work hard. So believe in yourself."
Her heart trembled.
Even her father had called her talentless.
But he—Naruto—believed in her.
They reached the gates of the Hyūga compound. Naruto let go of her hand and stepped back.
"See you tomorrow, Hinata."
She watched his red scarf flutter as he walked away.
Clutching her hands to her chest, she whispered with quiet determination,
"I will work hard, Naruto-kun… I will."
