(HAELORIAN'S POV)
I had walked the Elf Realm for over two thousand years.
For millennia, I had been a guardian spirit, watching over elven children as they laughed and played and grew beneath the golden light of our eternal sun. I had cradled newborn babies in my arms, had sung ancient lullabies to soothe their cries, had watched them take their first steps and speak their first words. I had been their protector, their watcher, their silent guardian in the shadows.
But I had never been their permanent guardian.
I had never had a child to call my own like other guardian spirits.
I had never had a mate either. I was alone. Completely alone.
Until Liam and Mason were born.
I remember the day Vaelion—the Sun God himself—had summoned me to his celestial chamber. The memory was etched into my soul like a brand, burning and beautiful and bittersweet all at once.
