(HAELORIAN'S POV)
That night, I had lied to everyone.
I had told them I needed to stay by Henry's side twenty-four hours a day until the rebonding ritual. That the spell required constant proximity. That if I was not near him, the connection would weaken.
All lies.
Every single word.
The truth was simpler and far more pathetic: I could not bear to be away from him.
Every moment Henry was out of my sight, my chest ached with a hollow emptiness that threatened to consume me. Every second he wasn't near me, I felt like I was drowning.
So I had fabricated an excuse to stay by his side.
And when Blue had offered us a room in his mansion, I had claimed that we needed to share a space—that the rebonding ritual required us to sleep in the same room.
Another lie.
But Henry had accepted it without question.

The first night in that room had been torture.
