(MASON'S POV)
I was so happy to have Blue back in my arms.
The moment he had walked through the door, the world had felt right again. The two days he had been gone had felt like an eternity, a slow, agonizing stretch of time where every second without him had felt like wading through molasses. I had missed the way his arms felt around me. I had missed the way his scent wrapped around me like a protective cocoon. I had missed his voice, his touch, his presence—the very essence of him that made my chaotic world feel safe.
So when he pulled me into his embrace, I melted into him.
I buried my face in his chest, listening to the steady, rhythmic thump of his heart—a heart he once told me beat only for me, only for us. His arms were wrapped around me so tightly, holding me like I was the most precious thing in the universe.
And I loved it.
I loved being held by him.
But then...
His grip tightened.
And tightened.
And tightened.
