(MASON'S POV)
The moment Blue disappeared through that door, something inside me shattered.
It wasn't a gradual breaking. It wasn't a slow, creeping fracture that I could feel coming. It was a violent, instantaneous explosion of everything I had been holding together—every hope, every dream, every promise of a future with Blue—all of it splintering into a million tiny pieces that scattered across the floor of my shattered heart.
I didn't remember falling to my knees.
I didn't remember the screams that tore from my throat.
I didn't remember Liam's arms wrapping around me, or Jake's voice calling my name, or my mother's gentle hands trying to soothe me.
All I remembered was the emptiness.
The gaping, yawning void where Blue used to be.
