(MASON'S POV)
I looked down at him now — this beautiful, powerful creature who was kneeling before me, tears streaming down his face, begging for forgiveness for something that, in my mind, wasn't even that big of a deal.
I knew I could simply dismiss it. I could tell him it was fine, that nothing had happened, that we should just move on. I could let him off the hook with a smile and a kiss.
But I saw how much this was tormenting him. I saw the desperation in his eyes, the way his whole body trembled with fear and remorse. If I just dismissed his confession, I would be dismissing his feelings, and that wasn't fair to him.
So instead, I reached out, cupping his tear-streaked face in my hands.
"Blue," I said softly, my voice gentle but firm. "Stop kneeling."
He blinked, confusion flickering in his blue eyes. "What?"
"Stop kneeling," I repeated. "Get up. Look at me."
