(GILBERT'S POV)
Three hours later, I arrived back at Blue's estate.
The mansion loomed before me, as grand and imposing as ever. The windows glowed with warm light, and I could hear the faint sounds of voices drifting from inside. Laughter. Conversation. Life.
I shifted back to my human form behind a cluster of trees, my body aching from the run. Then I sniffed myself carefully, checking for any trace of Omega or Jasper.
Nothing.
I smelled like Gilbert. The same Gilbert who had left a day and a half ago. The same Gilbert who had spent centuries perfecting the art of pretending to be something he wasn't.
I quickly pulled my clothes from my bag, changed, then squared my shoulders and lifted my chin.
One deep breath.
'You can do this. Just act normal. Nobody's going to know.'
I walked up the path to the front door and stepped inside.
*******
The moment I entered, two bodies slammed into me.
"GILBERT!"
