Chapter 28 - chapter Twenty eight:studio incident

Afterward, we continued chatting, and for a while, I managed to forget all my worries.

Since all three of us had work the next day, we didn't stay out too late.

After finishing the meal, Aiden paid the bill and we headed to the garage.

Sandra waved as she walked toward her car.

"My car's over there. I'm heading out."

"Alright," I nodded politely before turning to Aiden. "I'm leaving too."

Aiden reminded me,

"Don't forget to come over to my place for dinner in a couple of days."

"I won't."

Aiden's parents were very kind people, and we always got along well. We hadn't seen each other in quite a while.

Silently, I promised myself that I would visit them when I had the time.

The next day, I woke up to an empty bed. Alexander hadn't returned home the previous night, and so was the next night.i woke up on Monday morning but didn't feel as disappointed as I should have seeing the bed empty.

I got up, freshened up, had breakfast, and finally left for the office. After a very busy morning, I went to the studio to check on things. The shoots for the day went smoothly and were an absolute success. Lilian looked beautiful and flawless in every shot.

After we finished, I wanted to review the photos, so I walked toward Sandra. Lilian followed behind me.

Suddenly, I heard Alexander's voice shouting something from behind.

Before I could react, something crashed onto me. I felt a heavy weight slam into my body and I collapsed onto the floor.

Dazed, I looked up and saw Alexander holding Lilian in his arms, trying to comfort her.

"Alexander, you scared me!" Lilian said.

"I'm sorry. Are you hurt anywhere?" he asked anxiously as he checked her over.

"We're lucky CEO Blackwood showed up on time, or Lilian could have been seriously hurt," Kendra said as she stepped closer to them.

Meanwhile, I was still lying on the floor, my body aching all over. But what terrified me the most was the sharp pain spreading through my abdomen.

Just then, Sandra spotted me and rushed forward.

"Alicia! Are you okay?" she asked, trying to lift the shelf that had fallen on me.

I quickly grabbed her arm and whispered weakly, "Take me to the hospital… hurry."

That was when Alexander finally noticed me. His expression changed instantly.

He hurried over, scooped me into his arms, and rushed outside toward the car.

By that time, I was already losing consciousness.

I vaguely heard Alexander ordering Jim, "Drive to the nearest hospital. Now!"

"Alicia, don't close your eyes, okay? We're almost there," he said urgently.

When we arrived at the hospital, the medical staff rushed me toward the emergency ward. I grabbed the doctor's sleeve and whispered weakly,

"My baby… please save my baby."

"Don't worry, ma'am. We'll try o

ur best," the doctor replied.

Just as darkness began to swallow me, I suddenly remembered something. I tugged at the doctor's sleeve again.

"The man outside… he's my ex-husband. He doesn't know about the baby. Please… don't tell him."

The doctor looked at me suspiciously for a moment before nodding.

Then everything went black.

I don't know how much time had passed when I woke up in complete darkness. The first thing I noticed was the strong smell of disinfectant.

I slowly opened my eyes and glanced around, realizing I was in a hospital room.

"Alicia, you're awake. How do you feel?"

Hearing that familiar voice, I saw Alexander standing at the foot of my bed, his handsome face coming into view.

Instinctively, I placed my hand on my abdomen, feeling nervous.

"I'm fine," I said softly.

I looked out the window and realized it was already dark outside.

Just then, my stomach growled twice.

"You're hungry, aren't you? Should I have something brought in?" Alexander asked.
