That was the only word repeating itself in Karen's mind as they drove back to the hotel.
What family was Chairman Blackwood talking about?
Before she started working for him, she had been informed that Chairman Blackwood and his wife had separated two years ago after she left him.
So...
What family?
Karen was so deep in thought that she didn't even realize Alexander had been speaking to her.
Seeing no response, Alexander called again, his voice slightly louder this time.
"Karen, can't you hear me?"
His irritated tone immediately snapped her out of her thoughts.
She quickly looked up.
"I'm sorry, sir. What did you say?"
Alexander frowned.
"What were you thinking about? I've been talking to you for a while."
Karen lowered her head apologetically.
"I'm sorry, sir. It won't happen again."
Alexander didn't dwell on it.
Instead, he began giving instructions.
