"Do you remember the promise we made as kids?" Yesir suddenly asked.
Leera looked at him in confusion. "Which promise? I don't remember anything."
Yesir stared at her for a moment. "You seriously don't remember?"
Leera shook her head innocently. "No. But tell me what it was, maybe then I'll remember."
For a few seconds, Yesir stayed quiet before letting out a small breath, "Forget it," he said calmly.
The classroom was filled with low chatter.
Leera and Yesir were sitting together, talking quietly.
Just then, Erhaan walked in. His presence was calm as always, but his eyes went straight to yesir, "I need to talk to you," he said.
Yesir looked at him, "Yeah, tell me."
"Not here," Erhaan replied. "Let's talk outside."
Yesir nodded, then turned to leera. "I'll be back in a bit."
And just like that, he walked away.
Leera watching him leave, completely confused, "What happened to him now?" she muttered to herself. "What kind of promise was so serious anyway?"
the two of them walked out of the classroom.
They stood in the corridor.
A brief silence passed before yesir spoke.
"Alright, what is it?"
Erhaan didn't waste time.
"I deleted the photo," he said. "The same day Nayza had the accident."
Yesir watched him carefully.
Then nodded.
"I knew that, because you're not a boy like this."
Erhaan looked away for a moment, then added—
"I won't be coming to university from tomorrow."
Yesir frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm going out of country," Erhaan said calmly. "With my uncle. Maybe for a year."
Yesir was taken aback.
"That suddenly? By then, our university will be over too."
Erhaan gave a slight nod.
"My uncle said I have to go."
There wasn't much more to say.
For a moment, both of them stood there in silence.
Then—
They stepped forward and hugged each other.
A quiet, final kind of hug.
As they pulled away, Erhaan spoke again.
"Tell Nayza... I'm sorry."
A brief pause.
"And I hope she gets better soon."
Yesir nodded.
"I will. You take care of yourself."
Erhaan didn't reply.
He just turned—
And walked away.
Yesir stood there for a second, watching him leave.
Then he went back inside the classroom.
As he entered—
His eyes landed on Leera.
She was talking to a boy from their class.
Laughing lightly.
Something inside him tightened.
He walked straight toward them.
"What are you guys talking about," he asked.
His tone normal.
But inside—
There was irritation.
Leera looked at him.
"Oh, nothing much," she said. "I was just telling him that I'm planning to host a party at my place on the last day of the last 2nd semester. Some classmate will come."
Yesir didn't respond immediately.
Instead—
He reached for Leera's hand.
Without saying anything, he gently pulled her away from the boy—
Like she belonged with him.
He led her back to their usual seats.
Leera looked at him, surprised.
Blushing.
"What happened?" she asked softly. "Why did you suddenly bring me here?"
Yesir avoided her gaze.
"Nothing... just like that."
Leera kept looking at him.
Confused.
But also—
A little affected.
Just then—
The teacher walked into the class.
And the moment ended.
