With a devilish smile, Alex took off. Mike and his companions were just strategising their battle plan. Then next, their new companion left. Mid-jump looking down Alex was checking out his first enemy. Not used to his new powers he looked for the weakest in the bunch.
'Currently the most powerful thing about me is my chaos power. My body has a poor constitution so I have to keep my distance'
Like a hammer. He went down, his hand shaped like a spear. He impaled the enemy right in the head before looking for the next kill. Like a ballerina dancing on Ice. Alex was jumping in and out of the shadow of the shadow. Making sure his attacks aim at vital spots.
"Hey, who is that kid over there?"
Some of the soldiers took notice of the battle dancer, for a moment they forgot they were on a battlefield and watching a performer on stage. In 7 minutes he had already taken down 10 type 2 beasts and 5 type 3. He made a point to not go near any beast that is above type 4.
'Ok, I think that is good for now, let's try this again'
His eyes quickly changed to pure black. His spiritual sight was now activated. And when he overlooked the battle he saw many dead bodies, and of those bodies were souls waiting for harvesting. He raised his hands ready to suck in those souls but something weird happened. Only the souls of the creatures he personally killed seem to respond to his Telekanasis.

The message didn't uplift his mood, not even a bit. The upside is that he could last a little longer in the battle as he was already tired from killing the few before. He looked around. The battle was still raging on. So many of the beast's bodies filled the ground.
Unfortunately the humans' side doesn't appear all that optimistic either. He could see bodies of normal soldiers on the ground. Body parts scattered everywhere. Heads rolling. He knew he couldn' t do anything. He was weak in the past, his close allies took advantage of that, now Billions of lives have been lost.
Quickly he shook his head.
'The best way to fix the past is to fight for the future'
We dived back in. This time more dexterously than before. His chaos shadow continuously changes shape, one moment is it garden of spikes impaling an enemy another is a scythe perfectly decapitating the next. When others fell they saw their fellow brethren get cut down like trees. They started to send type 4 enemies.
Pressure was growing on him. One enemy attacks him while another blocks his exits. His shadow shifted from one point and once he got to another, they were already prepared for his arrival. It got to a point that all the beats took careful attention to their shadows.
"Hey, I think he is getting overwhelmed. Think we should land a hand?"
Mike asked, seeing Alex's face display frustration, he was on defence, never getting a moment to fix his thoughts.
"It will be dangerous, You two, continue taking down weak one. Miley…"
"Got it"
He didn't even have to finish his sentence, a spatial bubble opened right in front of him. The next end was above Alex's location.
The moment he jumped in he activated his new ability.
Mistica of Events: Eyes of truth
He took out his Odachi and quickly activated the treasure. His eyes quickly changed from ordinary ones. Patterns started to form. Once the transformation was done. His sight also changed. Start to perceive moments before they happen. But that was only for 2 seconds.
He could see them based on the joints, muscle twitch and eye movements of the enemy and the eyes automatically predict the enemy's next move. At the same time he could see what was currently happening as though it was a slow playing video.
To anyone, this was a sensory overload. But he was moving so swiftly, dodging attacks at the last moment. Thanks to his arrival, Alex was able to assess the situation around him and continued accordingly.
'I almost forgot'
Alex quickly used his telekinesis to lift all the rubble and remnants of the weapons being used to attack all the enemies who were currently surrounding him and used them to attack. This went on for quite some time. Over 40% percent of the beasts have been defeated. The remaining were still coming strong. Alex could feel his chaos energy running out.
Some of the jumpers already have their energy run dry. Now all they could do was take up arms and use their superior physique to fight…
"Sir, this is taking us nowhere. I think we should use that energy you have to try and activate one of the old powerful weapons. It could bypass the strange atmospheric energy that is disrupting most of our technology. These analogue weapons aren't helping us."
Heinz snuck into the battlefield to deliver this piece of news.
"I hear you, But do you have a way to control the energy or have it bypass the electronic interference?"
Malkov turned to the Researcher and asked with a firm look on his face. What he needed right now was absolutes not theories.
"Not all weapons will work but there is one I am fairly sure will work. I went and even checked it before I came here. But it was still a concept then, it needed so much power to activate so it was shelved"
"Officer Yulo, Go with the Doctor here and help him carry the weapon he is about to direct you towards"
"Ok, sir"
With that the two left. General Malkov was currently focused on one individual on the battlefield.
'That kid was right, I can't feel any connection with Mistica from him. So where does this power come from? Even a glass worth can power a weapon deemed so powerful they couldn't manage the energy to power it.'
The more The General thinks about Alex, he gains more unanswered questions.
'No matter, if we survive this, I have so much to ask this kid'
Back on the battlefield Alex was now freshly out of energy. He turned to Mildread.
"Buy me a few seconds"
Mildread nodded without a thought. Mike turned on his spiritual sight. He has killed way more enemies now. Mildread turned to find Alex's eyes blacked out. Then with his eyes of truth still on, he saw a disturbing event. Sparks of light seem to be pulled off from the corpses of the dead beats and head towards Alex's Mouth. As he was watching that, the next thing he saw was Alex's muscles grow a bit and become more turned.
'Am I seeing things?'
His eyes bulged out, not believing what he was witnessing.

He could feel his energy full. His body felt a whole lot lighter now. He looked at the Type 2 fallen. He didn't activate his energy or soul energy this time. He quickly charged towards it and punched right through its chest and pulled out its heart.
Witnessing all this happen Muldred felt like he was going insane. He had already gauged Alex's physique strength since the battle started and he knew just how much body could take or give.
'Sure he has crazy weird powers. But I know his body has less strength than that of a soldier so where is this sudden burst of strength coming from?'
Alex realised something, He had absorbed so much souls but he still hasn't gained any new abilities. He quickly went into his system logs. And then an old message appeared.

Suddenly an explosion rang out, right in the middle of the horde of beasts. When Alex checked, he saw a dark ball of energy currently consuming the fallen like a black. The ball pulled in at least 200 hundred beasts before it died down.
"Why does that energy feel so familiar"
At the back of the line, Head Researcher Heinz was ecstatic.
