"I want to become the protagonist"….Mr. Nobody's words echoed in Ms. Nobody's mind.
"You are so cold... he practically begged you, and yet..." the Narrator's voice chimed in. "And what do you have to say for yourself regarding your inhumanity?"
"And am I supposed to?" the girl replied, her gaze fixed on nothing in particular.
The Narrator's voice burst into laughter. "Just exactly what I expected."
Ms. Nobody rose and walked out of the wooden house. Traversing the empty streets, she headed toward the city gates. Stepping through the gates, she beheld a steppe stretching out before her ,a vast, immense grassland spanning the entire horizon. The girl began to run. She ran across the grass, holding up the hem of her long dress, a strange sensation, indeed.
"And just where do you think you're off to?" the Narrator interrupted her flight toward freedom.
"I'm going to start with the ace!" the girl shouted, never breaking stride.
"The ace?" the Narrator asked, but the girl remained silent. It was abundantly clear: she intended to destroy everything.
The girl reached a small hill and came to a halt. A dark passage, roughly her own height, led into its interior.
"You know," the Narrator's voice rang out, "the Villain has been wounded," he declared, his tone taking on a dramatic gravitas.
"And what exactly did *I* do?" she retorted, stepping into the dark passage. After descending a steep incline, she sensed that the path ahead had vanished, giving way to a bottomless pit with no visible end. Though she could see nothing, she leaped into the abyss regardless. "Hey! is this *really* a dragon's lair, or just some glorified rabbit hole?" Miss Nobody called out as she plummeted downward.
"Haha! I'm practically dying of laughter," the Narrator replied with heavy sarcasm. Sensing the ground beneath her, the young woman landed gracefully upon the rocky surface.
"Wow!? so you're not entirely useless after all," the narrator remarked with surprise. Ms. Nobody offered no reply.
The young woman looked ahead and beheld a vast cavern, overflowing with precious treasures and other priceless artifacts, the hoard of a great dragon. The beast opened its eyes and stared directly at Ms. Nobody.
"Isn't it a bit too early for the protagonist to show up?" the dragon asked in astonishment.
"Apologies, but the protagonist turned out to be far weaker than we anticipated," the young woman explained nervously. "May I take a sword?"
The dragon nodded and settled back into its sleeping position. Ms. Nobody stepped inside; the interior of the cavern shimmered and gleamed so intensely that the entire space seemed to blaze with light. Approaching the glittering mound of jewels, she selected the very first sword she laid eyes on. It appeared to be a perfectly ordinary blade, yet upon closer inspection, she sensed a powerful aura radiating from it.
"Beginner's luck, I suppose," she murmured, turning to look back at the dragon. "Forgive me," she whispered, then calmly approached the slumbering beast. Drawing closer to the creature, which was easily ten times her size, she raised her sword and...
Ms. Nobody emerged from the cavern moments later, covered in blood.
"That dragon put up quite a fight," the young woman mused. As she approached the spot where she had originally landed. Then she heard a scream. Looking up, she saw two figures plummeting toward her. First, she caught Mr. Nobody, followed immediately by The Love Interest.
