Third person POV
Rathanak kept on wondering where his classmate from the same class and cohort went, and this thought of wondering continued on for a few more days. Despite that, he managed to focus on the things he needed to do, including responsibilities at home and a few things other than that. But then, one afternoon after class, Rathanak was coming home when he saw something he shouldn't: a van, and Camellia was being abducted by its passengers, who were gangsters dressed in SWAT-style gear. Camellia was struggling to get herself out of their clutches, and Rathanak was shocked to see that. It was his friend, and he decided to do something risking: giving himself to the gangsters so Camellia would be free from them.
So, he did so, and the gangsters were displeased by his intervention and beat him up, much to Camellia's horror. But Rathanak said to her, "Get out of here, I'll be okay." As the gangsters knocked him unconscious, Camellia grabbed her backpack and got out of there.
The masked gangsters then carried Rathanak into their van and drove off.
Why did Rathanak did that?
