Chapter 8 - Clash at the Palace Gates

The magnificent gates of the palace stood like a boundary between two worlds. Nahid and Nihad were approaching from different paths, moving toward each other. Unaware of one another, they were stepping toward the same goal, the same place. No matter how far apart they had drifted, the hands of fate were pulling them toward each other.

Nahid slowly approached the massive palace gates and stopped. The sorrow on his face was mixed with determination. He took a deep breath and spoke loudly enough for his voice to echo.

"Nihad, my brother… Do you see it? This place, this palace, is where the king's cruelty lives. The king treats his people like slaves, kills the innocent, and ignores the poor. His government is like scattered stones, each one a piece of the same evil. But when they come together, they create the true darkness. Everything turns within these walls. This evil must be stopped before it exploits the people any further."

Nihad fixed his eyes on the scene before him and let out a deep sigh. Then he slowly stepped forward toward Nahid.

"Yes, brother, what the king has done is horrifying. But my path has only one goal: justice. If there is injustice, then everything that opposes it will carry a price. But I do not want to seize the throne or kill out of anger. I want justice to prevail. I want the people to find the peace they deserve."

Nahid listened carefully to every word Nihad spoke, yet the determination in his eyes never faded.

"Justice? Brother, justice is not just a word. Justice is rebellion against a king who crushes his people. It is the path to saving their lives. We must bring these people peace before they suffer any longer. Without stopping the king and his government, these people cannot move forward even a single step. So I have an offer for you, Nihad… At the end of this journey, I will be waiting for you as well, ready to destroy this evil. No matter how little I may care for you now, my goal is the freedom of the people—and if that means facing you and stopping you, so be it."

Nihad nodded and took another step forward.

"Your determination could make you a great leader, Nahid. But justice cannot be achieved through killing. The king may be a creature who oppresses his people, but killing him will not erase his crimes. Our purpose is to free the people. I am not here to kill you—I am here to find the right path. Fighting so that justice may prevail should be the true purpose of this battle."

Nahid crossed his arms and studied Nihad with a sharp gaze.

"Brother, perhaps you are right. But sometimes justice requires walking through darkness. If your justice can bring freedom to the people, I will not stand against it. But one thing is certain: this journey will not end without someone dying. Either the king… or me… or both of us."

Beyond the palace gates, as the two brothers moved closer to one another, they could feel the moment when their paths would collide. They understood each other's strength, determination, and beliefs. Yet in the end, there was only one path. That path would end with the victory of either justice or power.

Nahid began to feel the power of flames gathering in his hands, the storm inside him growing stronger. Nihad embraced the cold strength of water and looked at his brother with determination. They had become enemies, yet they were still walking toward the same goal.

Behind the gates, on the thin line between life and death, they realized how similar they truly were. But that realization would only force them to choose their own paths. In the end, they would have no choice but to become enemies.

As Nahid and Nihad stood face to face at the gates of the palace, their hostility toward one another was undeniable. But this moment would not pass as quietly as they expected.

Suddenly, a figure appeared from the deep shadows.

Nicat approached them slowly, watching the two brothers with a dark gaze. A sly smile spread across his face.

"So, have you decided to kill each other?" Nicat asked mockingly. "That will make things much easier."

Nahid and Nihad turned toward him carefully. Their expressions remained firm, but they sensed the threat in his presence.

Nicat raised his hands and began murmuring a spell. His eyes suddenly darkened, and they could feel the presence of a powerful demon being summoned.

Then, with a massive explosion, a terrifying creature rose from the ground of the palace courtyard.

The demon Akaza emerged—huge and horrifying. His eyes glowed like the fires of hell, and the air around him darkened. His body was surrounded by a sinister black energy, and with every step he took, the ground seemed to tremble.

"And now," Nicat said coldly, "both of you will die."

Akaza rushed forward with enormous hands and struck Nahid with a devastating punch, sending him flying through the air. Nahid felt his body slam into the ground, the breath knocked out of him. For a moment his vision darkened, and he felt his strength fading.

But he would not give up.

With every movement of Akaza, the ground shook. His massive fists drove Nahid into a corner. Nahid was covered in blood, yet a fierce determination still burned in his eyes. Avoiding Akaza's giant blows was becoming harder and harder.

But the fire within him was stronger than anything.

This battle was not only about survival—it was about purpose.

Akaza swung another massive punch, smashing Nahid against a wall of stone and pushing him to the edge of death.

But Nahid rose again, covered in blood, and took another step forward.

"I… won't give up," he said, struggling to breathe.

Every part of his body screamed with pain, but the flame in his heart continued to burn. Nahid charged toward Akaza, gathering all his power, and unleashed a massive explosion of fire.

His blazing figure stopped Akaza's attack.

In that moment, Nahid's eyes shone with determination within the flames.

Suddenly he lunged forward, striking the enormous creature with a powerful blow. Akaza staggered, losing his balance for a moment.

With one final movement, Nahid's fist—empowered by the flames—shot forward and struck directly at Akaza's head.

Crash!

Akaza's head was blown off by a single strike, and the monstrous demon collapsed to the ground. His eyes became empty as he fell into the deep sleep of death.

Nahid stepped back, exhausted but victorious, breathing heavily while fiery determination still burned in his eyes.

"This is it… the end of the kingdom," he muttered.

As Akaza died, the dark energy surrounding the palace quickly began to disperse.

Watching everything unfold, Nicat smiled with irritation.

"I didn't calculate that," he said, his eyes reflecting the shadow of another dark game. "But I told you, Nahid… this is only the beginning."

As Nihad watched what had happened, he felt a strange space between respect and fear toward his brother. With every passing second, Nahid was becoming an even more powerful figure.

But Nihad would continue to fight for the same goal.

No matter what it would cost.
