After an uneventful night shift the night came to a close. I was on my way home, walking in the dark, bearing in mind that I was going home after the nights long night shift, I'd left after everyone else, but as I was leaving the area I stopped because as always I always wondered, did I really lock the door? The problem I always had was always wondering did I lock the door?
I turned around as you do and walked all the way back. When I got to the door, yes, it was locked and the lights were off. Anything goes on with the display lights. They show the pub's name. Cafe come bar again.I Keep saying that, keep making it up. It's a bar and a cafe so it's not really a pub per se. We could call it one if you like but it was confusing. I've been here for a while and I'm still confused.
As they stood there pondering this, what was reflected in the glass was a silhouette of a beautiful woman. When I turned round she was already walking away. She seemed to have a black dress and large high heels. They seem to be purple with a bit of glitter as she clack clack clacked away. I wondered how she does not face plant and break her ankles. Those shoes never made any sense to me. The ground isn't even; the pavement is raised above the road. There's even grass in patches. How is that safe? Just in order to look good. I commend their bravery.
As I stood watching I gave a little bow and said it out quite loud, "I commend your bravery, miss".
As I rose up from my deep bow, feeling a little embarrassed, she turned around and looked at me and gave me a small grin. She had long long red hair down to the middle of the waist, tied up in what seemed to be a braid. It was possibly even longer, a large heavy braid held together by a clip and what seems to be elastics and a bow. The bow was pink with bright purple poka dots.
She gave me a wicked grin, winked and continued walking, as she said, with the cute but naughty laugh, "see you next time". She walked off into the night, leaving me stunned, standing again like a scarecrow. Perhaps I should have my name tag changed to scarecrow; sometimes I really wonder that.
After a few minutes of standing, doing nothing, letting the shock fade, a cool breeze that was whipping through the streets helped calm me down. The feeling of it on my face was the best; it went threw my hair and my beard. Very calming and in the quiet of the night,I stood there wondering: what did she mean? Though this moment was peaceful the peace soon did not last for a bunch of screaming idiots with their music blaring came driving right past, destroying the quiet of the night and ruining the moment. Well that does it. I'm going to bed. Nothing good ever happens after 2 am and it's now, well 3 am. I've got to come back here tomorrow night for another long night shift.
Pondering this with a sigh I continued walking not in the way in which the lady went but across the road there were no cars so I wasn't too worried about jaywalking although I did comment about it before. I crossed the other side, turned left and followed the road on. I kept on until I got to the street where I normally turn down and head home. I turned down the street and headed towards a residential area. Once there I arrived at my apartment. I climbed the three staircases, flew up the stairs. I opened the door and entered. I headed a straight for bed; I didn't do anything else, just out cold until morning.
The dawn came and with a grumble I got up. Oh when I say dawn I don't mean the dawn. It was about 3 pm when my alarm went off.
I Got up, got ready, had breakfast lunch, which ever like to call it brunch. Two eggs on toast, two rashers of bacon. Eggs completely nuked, destroyed, so very hard to actually tell the eggs were well scrambled, perfectly done. Had the tomato sauce. Had that. Two cups of coffee and off I go.
Of course before I went I did get dressed to work attire or at least there's attire to go there in. Walking along the road, it was quite brisk and cool evening. It was about 4:00, about an hour before my shift started, walking along and it hit me a piece of paper and lo and behold it was a flyer, a flyer for the place I worked.
I couldn't even enjoy the walk in without being reminded of where I'm going with a chain and manacle around my neck and the taskmasters behind me, pressuring. They're pressuring me to work harder although I probably shouldn't complain. The pay's pretty good and I can drink all the free coffee I like. What's not to like? I love coffee but while doing so I could not help but think back to yesterday till I was just near the spot where I turned yesterday to return to check if I locked the door. I could not help but wonder, was fate at work again? Is that why I met with strange blonde beauty with her braids and her pink polka-dotted bow or was it perhaps just chance? Well for what it's worth I hope she comes through tonight and keeps up with that promise. I would love to see that naughty grin again.
