CHAPTER 38: THE QUANTUM STRIKE
Outside the heavy metallic doors of the Vault, the resonance of clashing metal and heavy footsteps grew louder. On Iris's screen, the number of red dots was increasing rapidly.
"They are moving fast…" she said, panicked.
The name flashed on the screen— VOID SENTINELS. These were the Architect's most advanced hunters.
Kael activated his swords into Vibro-mode, blue energy emitting from their edges. "Then what are we waiting for?" He smirked. "Let them in".
Aryan stood a few steps back, slowly closing his eyes. Within him, the recently decoded ॐ symbol began to hum. The S-01 tattoo on his hand glowed faintly. His energy was no longer aggressive; it was calm and deep, like a still ocean.
Suddenly— BOOOOM!.
The massive Vault door exploded inward. Dozens of glowing eyes appeared amidst the dust and debris: Void Sentinels. They possessed black metallic bodies, weapons filled with purple energy, and a cold blue light in their eyes—the sign of a simulation's end.
As the first Sentinel lunged inside, Kael moved with lightning speed. His swords spun, carving blue lines through the air. With two swift strikes, three Sentinels fell, sliced in half within seconds. Behind him, Captain Zero provided cover fire with his Pulse Rifle, sparks flying as energy bolts hit the walls.
"Aryan!" Zero shouted. "If not now, then when?".
Aryan gripped his metal rod with both hands. He recalled the sentence from his grandfather's files: "Brahmastra – A Quantum Singularity Weapon".
He focused his consciousness on the tip of the rod. Slowly, the blue energy condensed into a single point—a point so bright that Iris had to shield her eyes. An alert flashed on the terminal:
SYSTEM ALERT: SINGULARITY DETECTED
BRAHMASTRA PROTOCOL: ONLINE
Aryan's voice grew heavy. "Everyone, get back".
Kael immediately jumped back while Zero ceased fire. In the next moment, Aryan swung his rod forward. From that tiny point, a massive wave of energy erupted. It wasn't fire; it was pure white light. Every substance in its path began to disintegrate at the atomic level. The first ten Sentinels vanished into steam without an explosion, their digital data erased entirely.
Silence briefly filled the Vault. But then, a dark shadow lunged toward Aryan from the rubble like lightning: Duplicate Aryan (Anti-Subject). His hands also held energy, but it wasn't golden; it was a deep, toxic black, like pure Void Energy.
CLASH!.
Their energies collided, sending a powerful shockwave through the Vault. Terminal screens cracked and walls trembled. The Duplicate leaned close to Aryan, whispering softly, "You won't be able to handle this… brother. You are just a prototype. I am the true heir of the Void".
Aryan clenched his teeth. He realized the Duplicate's power was also linked to the Shiva Control Code, but while Aryan's energy represented balance, the Duplicate's was pure destruction.
Iris's voice rang out: "Aryan! We have to get out of here!". She was typing furiously at the terminal as stones and metal fragments began to fall from the ceiling. "The structure is collapsing! I've found a secret path leading to the outer server of The Source!".
Aryan used all his strength to push the Duplicate back, then struck his rod against the ground: QUANTUM BLAST.
The wave of energy threw the Duplicate back several steps. Looking into his double's eyes, Aryan said, "Next time… the game ends".
Taking advantage of the smoke and falling debris, Aryan, Iris, Kael, and Captain Zero sprinted toward the secret tunnel. Behind them, the Vault ceiling caved in, burying the room in stone and metal.
The Vault had collapsed, but Aryan knew this was not the end. It was the signal for the next chapter to begin, for their next stop was the Architect's main stronghold—where the heart of The Source beats, and where the true fate of this war would be decided.
