"Is this all you've got?"
"This is making me feel empty!"
"What about Thor? Isn't he a god?"
"And what about the Hulk? I'd really like to fight him!"
On their way to San Francisco, the Avengers were intercepted by thousands of Ultron robots and were completely overwhelmed.
The massive advantage excited Ultron. Each Ultron unit talked to the Avengers as they fought.
"Think of something! We're going to die here!"
Under Ultron's relentless assault, Natasha spoke through the communicator, asking about everyone's situation.
But no one could answer her. Facing several Ultrons at once, everyone was busy figuring out how to survive the next attack.
"Without Superman, you're nothing. Just a bunch of insects living in the shadow of a superhuman. Listen—this is only the body I'm using after being destroyed. You don't even have the right to hurt me."
One punch slammed into Tony's Iron Man armor, instantly knocking him to the ground. Before he could fly far, another Ultron grabbed him and threw him back.
Ultron grabbed Tony by the neck and lifted him into the air.
"Even if I don't know what my body said before it died, I'm sure it said something like… I'll be back!"
Ultron was referring to the body that had been destroyed earlier in Italy.
The armor began to deform under the crushing pressure as Ultron continued increasing his strength.
"See? I told you. I'm back."
"He never said that. And it sounds like you don't even know what you're talking about," Tony's voice came from inside the armor.
No one knew which part of Ultron counted as his ears, but he clearly heard it.
"I like that attitude, Tony…"
"No thanks. That's cross-species. It wouldn't work between us. You should try dating a car… maybe relax inside it. Might help with your stress."
"Haha! Exactly. Otherwise killing you wouldn't give me any sense of accomplishment."
Ultron laughed loudly. The pressure in his hand ignited parts of Tony's armor, and the lights in the helmet's eyes flickered and died.
"Clang!"
A shield suddenly flew in and knocked Ultron away. Tony fell heavily to the ground.
Steve had rushed in to save him. But while throwing the shield, Steve took a brutal kick to the waist from another Ultron.
The battered Ultron stood back up and looked at Steve.
"Captain! Looks like you need more experience!"
Several more Ultrons surrounded Steve. Enduring the pain in his waist, he rolled across the ground like a donkey, reached his fallen shield, and picked it up to defend himself.
Tony, now free, lay on the ground. He removed his helmet and gasped for air. For a moment he had truly thought he was going to die. If Steve hadn't saved him, he would already be a corpse.
Tony looked around.
The Avengers had no chance of winning. Ultron wasn't killing them—he was torturing them, as if waiting for something.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a sonic boom echoed across the sky.
A figure streaked through the air at incredible speed, the wind from his passage bending the grass below.
Bang! Bang!
Countless Ultron robots suddenly shattered and scattered across the ground.
Only one remained—still gripping Natasha by the throat.
The figure finally appeared before them, and everyone turned to look.
"Who are you?!"
No one recognized him. He had an Asian face, with messy hair blowing wildly in the wind.
"Why are the Avengers so weak?"
Instead of answering Ultron's question, the man frowned and looked around.
Fortunately the Avengers didn't hear that comment—otherwise, with Tony's personality, they might have started spraying insecticide together.
Ultron grew irritated.
"Young man, this matter does not concern you—"
"Stop tweeting. If you want to fight, then fight. What's all that ink for?"
The man impatiently interrupted Ultron, holding a long blue-and-white blade in his hand.
Ultron asked coldly,
"Who are you? Aren't you afraid of death?"
The man rested the blade on his shoulder casually.
"Remember the name of the man who killed you—Yue Tingfeng!"
In the next instant, his figure vanished.
He reappeared beside Natasha.
The Ultron choking her suddenly collapsed into pieces.
The Avengers all let out sighs of relief. Just moments ago they had thought they were going to die. Now unexpected reinforcements had arrived to save them.
Tony sat up and picked up a fragment of Ultron, squeezing it between his fingers.
"This material is strange…"
"What did you find?" Steve asked weakly as he sat beside him.
Tony kept turning the fragment over in his hand, studying its structure.
"Hmm…"
A massive iron container suddenly dropped from the sky.
Midair, it transformed and unfolded piece by piece.
Tony stood up and flew into the air. The metal container wrapped around him like a Transformer, eventually forming a gigantic Iron Man suit.
It stood nearly four meters tall, a giant version of the normal armor.
"Scan the components and analyze the material."
The moment he entered the suit, Tony immediately began scanning.
"Sir, the material is an iron-based element with a density forty-seven times that of ordinary iron."
The data quickly appeared in Tony's display after Friday's analysis.
Tony glanced at the results and sighed softly.
"My God…"
Penetrating this armor was equivalent to stabbing through forty-seven centimeters of solid iron.
No wonder they had struggled so much just to leave scratches on Ultron's surface.
"This isn't fair," Tony muttered.
If there had been only one or two Ultrons, they could have handled it. But Ultron had sent thousands at once—too many to even count.
"Captain, can you still stand?" Tony's voice echoed from inside the giant armor.
Steve held his wound and smiled.
"I'm not dying just yet."
Steve was the most seriously injured. Natasha had been treated relatively gently by Ultron and hadn't suffered severe damage.
As for the others, Wanda had been their main source of attack power, while the rest mainly tried to interfere.
Yue Tingfeng helped the unconscious Natasha to her feet as the other Avengers gathered around him.
"Thank you. Otherwise we might have died here."
Dragging his battered body, Steve walked over to thank Yue Tingfeng.
Yue Tingfeng smiled and was about to speak—
"Ultron isn't dead. That was only one part of him."
Everyone except Yue Tingfeng turned toward Vision.
"I'd really like to know where that material came from," Tony muttered quietly inside his armor. "Give me a month and I could keep testing it."
Yue Tingfeng suddenly looked into the distance.
"They're here."
Everyone turned.
In the far sky, thousands of small black dots were rapidly approaching.
Within seconds, the Avengers on the ground were surrounded by an entire Ultron army.
This generation of Ultrons looked even stronger than the previous ones. Their massive frames were obvious even from afar.
"As I said, this is not something you can interfere with."
All the Ultrons spoke at once, their voices merging into a powerful shockwave that made everyone dizzy.
Already severely injured, Steve completely lost the ability to fight.
Quicksilver stared at the army in the sky and muttered hopelessly,
"I don't want to die here."
Yue Tingfeng was the first to stand.
The blue-white blade appeared in his hand.
Pointing it at the Ultron army, he said,
"Let's see how many little demons you have left!"
He raised the blade high and slashed downward.
In everyone's eyes, a massive X-shaped sword aura shot forward.
It looked slow, heavy with pressure—but in reality it moved incredibly fast.
Ultron fired twisted-space energy beams from his arms.
The sword aura did not slow down. It crushed through them, annihilating countless Ultrons.
But most of them still managed to dodge.
However—
the moment Yue Tingfeng swung his sword, his figure had already vanished.
Just like when he first appeared, the Ultrons that avoided the attack began collapsing one after another under his strikes.
In less than a minute, every Ultron present was destroyed.
"Haa…"
Breathing heavily, Yue Tingfeng sat down on the ground.
After only a few minutes of battle, he already felt exhausted. The energy consumption had been enormous.
Because of his lack of combat experience, he hadn't thought about conserving his energy.
"Did you analyze it?" Tony asked quietly inside the armor.
"Sir, the database contains no records of this energy. It appears to be a completely new form of energy."
"Are you giving me a lecture today?"
Hearing Friday's response made Tony feel unusually ignorant.
Today he had encountered two things he couldn't understand: a metal with dozens of times the density of iron—and Yue Tingfeng's mysterious energy.
"It's okay," Wanda said as she walked over.
Her powers had only awakened recently, and she still wasn't skilled at controlling them.
Moreover, Chaos Magic was incredibly complex. She had only been using it crudely against Ultron.
Quicksilver stood nearby silently. It wasn't that he didn't want to speak—he simply couldn't.
Speed was all he had. Even with the special gauntlets Tony had built for him, his attacks couldn't damage Ultron's body.
All he could do was interfere—and now he was completely exhausted.
Yue Tingfeng stared at Wanda.
He looked so intently that he almost forgot to breathe, like a fool.
Wanda didn't feel embarrassed. She simply saw concern in his eyes.
Quicksilver, despite being tired, walked over and patted Yue Tingfeng on the shoulder.
"Kid, what are you staring at?"
Snapping out of it, Yue Tingfeng awkwardly smiled and asked Vision,
"How many Ultrons are left?"
Vision shook his head.
"I don't know. But he's definitely not dead. The one he wants to deal with is Superman—and right now he's not even worthy of making Karl take action."
"Huh?"
Yue Tingfeng looked confused.
"Superman? Why are you bringing Superman into this?"
Steve, lying on the ground, looked straight at him.
"You know him?"
Yue Tingfeng hesitated for a moment… then nodded.
"I recognize him."
After that, he said nothing more.
