Chapter 30 - fall

The distance between them was gone.

Completely.

Kiara could feel his breath.

Aarav could hear her heartbeat.

Fast.

Unsteady.

Just like his.

For a moment—

Neither of them spoke.

Because this wasn't like before.

This wasn't anger.

This wasn't tension.

This was something softer.

Something real.

"Aarav…" Kiara whispered.

As if saying his name would stop this.

But it didn't.

His hand was still on her face.

Gentle.

Careful.

Like she mattered.

More than anything else.

"You should stop me," he said quietly.

Kiara looked at him.

Her voice just as soft—

"Do you want me to?"

Silence.

One second.

Two.

Aarav shook his head slowly.

"No."

That was it.

That one word.

That one truth.

Kiara didn't step back.

Didn't argue.

Didn't run.

Because this time—

She didn't want to.

Aarav moved closer.

Closing the last bit of space between them.

His voice barely a whisper—

"I don't hate you anymore."

Kiara's breath caught.

"That's not what this is."

Her fingers tightened slightly against his shirt.

"Then what is it?"

Aarav didn't hesitate this time.

"Something I can't ignore."

A pause.

Then—

"Something I don't want to lose."

Kiara's eyes softened.

Because finally—

He said it.

Not perfectly.

Not completely.

But enough.

"You're late," she whispered.

Aarav's lips curved faintly.

"I know."

And then—

He kissed her.

Not rushed.

Not forced.

Not accidental.

Slow.

Careful.

Real.

Like he was giving her time to stop him.

And she didn't.

Kiara's hand moved to his shoulder.

Holding him there.

Not pushing him away.

Because for the first time—

She let herself feel it.

Without fear.

Without doubt.

When they finally pulled apart—

Neither of them spoke.

Because words suddenly felt unnecessary.

Kiara rested her forehead lightly against his.

"This changes everything," she whispered.

Aarav nodded.

"I know."

But outside that moment—

Everything was already changing.

Across the city—

Alisha stood in her room.

Her phone in her hand.

Watching the news.

Watching Aarav and Kiara together.

Her expression slowly broke.

"This wasn't supposed to happen…"

And somewhere darker—

Arjun stared at the same image.

His eyes cold.

Empty.

Dangerous.

"She chose him…"

He whispered.

Then his grip tightened.

"Fine."

On the table beside him—

A file lay open.

With one name circled in red—

Kiara Kapoor

Arjun's voice dropped into a quiet promise—

"If I can't have her…"

A pause.

Then—

"No one will."

Back in the mansion—

Kiara and Aarav stood close.

Unaware of what was coming.

Because love—

Had finally entered their story.

And that made everything…

Far more dangerous.
